Senior Director of Information Technology (CIO Track)

Remote - USA

About Accredited Labs

Accredited Labs is building the leading national network of calibration and metrology laboratories in the United States. We serve customers across aerospace, automotive, agriculture, food & beverage, life sciences, manufacturing, energy, and more.

In the past 18–24 months, we’ve completed 20+ tuck-in acquisitions and now operate 30+ locations under a “house of brands” model. The next phase is a focus on transitioning our collection of labs into a single, integrated, technology-enabled platform without losing the local relationships our customers trust.

Technology is central to that plan. Our current cloud-based stack includes:

  • IndySoft – calibration management
  • NetSuite – ERP and financials
  • HubSpot – marketing and CRM
  • BigQuery + Tableau – data and analytics
  • Celigo – API integrations between systems

We are now hiring the Senior Director of IT to own and integrate this ecosystem and to grow into the company’s future Chief Information Officer.

Role Overview

The Senior Director of IT is the company’s top technology leader today and is the clear succession path to CIO as we scale. This role combines IT strategy, systems integration, infrastructure leadership, cybersecurity, and vendor management in a highly acquisitive, multi-site services business.

You will:

  • Build and run the IT function from a lean starting point.
  • Turn 20+ acquired environments into one coherent platform.
  • Own the technology roadmap that supports aggressive M&A, organic growth, and operational discipline.
  • Work directly with the CEO, COO, and executive team on priorities, investments, and execution.

If you are looking for a comfortable maintenance role, this is not it. If you want to architect and own the technology backbone of a national services platform, keep reading.

What You Will Own

IT Strategy & CIO-Track Leadership

  • Define a 3–5 year IT roadmap aligned to the company’s acquisition pipeline and operating model.
  • Translate business goals (growth, integration, productivity, margin) into clear technology priorities, milestones, and budgets.
  • Act as the primary technology voice in executive meetings and Board discussions when needed.
  • Build the operating rhythms, reporting, and metrics you’ll eventually scale as CIO.

Systems Integration & M&A Technology Consolidation

  • Lead IT due diligence, integration planning, and post-close execution for every acquisition.
  • Build a repeatable M&A playbook covering identity, infrastructure, applications, data migration, and security.
  • Consolidate and rationalize legacy systems into our core stack: IndySoft, NetSuite, Salesforce FSL/Service Cloud, HubSpot, BigQuery/Tableau.
  • Standardize configurations, data models, and user workflows across all business units.
  • Ensure that new acquisitions are brought onto the network quickly, safely, and without operational disruption.

Multi-Site Infrastructure & Operations

  • Own IT operations across 30+ physical labs plus corporate and remote locations.
  • Architect and manage networks, connectivity, Wi-Fi, endpoint standards, and local infrastructure so technicians and office staff can do their jobs without friction.
  • Implement identity and access management, standard workstation builds, and device management across the network.
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities appropriate for a national calibration provider.
  • Set and enforce SLAs for uptime, incident response, and change management.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk

  • Design and govern the company’s cybersecurity program across endpoints, networks, cloud, email, and applications.
  • Align controls and practices with NIST, SOC-type frameworks, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements in partnership with our Quality organization.
  • Implement and oversee tools such as EDR/MDR, email security, vulnerability management, backup/immutability, and security awareness training.
  • Own incident response plans, tabletop exercises, and post-incident reviews.
  • Ensure that customer data, calibration records, and certificates are protected and audit-ready.

Data Governance, Analytics & “Single Source of Truth”

  • Define and enforce enterprise data standards across IndySoft, NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, and other systems.
  • Establish master data management (MDM) for customers, equipment/assets, locations, and financial entities.
  • Own the architecture and governance for BigQuery and downstream reporting (e.g., Tableau), enabling consistent KPIs and dashboards across the business.
  • Work with Finance, Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams to make sure data is usable, trusted, and maintained.

MSP & Vendor Management

  • Lead the relationship with our Managed Service Provider(s) who deliver helpdesk, infrastructure, security tooling, and on-site support.
  • Set SLAs, KPIs, and escalation paths and hold vendors accountable for performance and cost.
  • Rationalize overlapping vendor contracts and licenses to improve reliability and reduce spend.
  • Evaluate and select new technology partners where needed, negotiating commercial terms and ensuring tight integration into our stack.

Team Building & Operating Model

  • Design and build a small, high-caliber internal IT team focused on architecture, integration, vendor management, and governance rather than ticket-taking.
  • Create an IT operating model that balances central standards with local support needs at each lab.
  • Develop playbooks, documentation, and training for both IT staff and end-users.
  • Coach and grow your team so the function can scale as the company grows.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 5+ years at Director/Senior Director or equivalent level.
  • Proven track record of building or rebuilding an IT function in a high-growth or private-equity-backed environment.
  • Direct experience integrating IT systems and infrastructure across multiple acquired entities (M&A roll-up, multi-site, or multi-brand environment).
  • Hands-on background in infrastructure, networks, cloud, security, and enterprise applications (not just software product or PMO leadership).
  • Demonstrated success managing and governing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and other key vendors.
  • Strong cybersecurity and risk management experience with practical use of frameworks such as NIST, SOC, ISO 27001, etc.
  • Experience designing or overseeing hybrid cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS, O365, identity, VPN, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical executives and to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, imperfect, acquisitive environment where priorities shift and speed matters.

Preferred

  • Experience in multi-site industrial services, manufacturing, logistics, or laboratory environments.
  • Experience with one or more of: IndySoft, NetSuite, Salesforce Field Service/Service Cloud, HubSpot, BigQuery, Tableau.
  • Prior leadership in a private-equity-backed or roll-up platform.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or MS) is a plus but not required.

Why Join Accredited Labs?

  • You will own the technology agenda for a national services platform that is still early in its integration journey.
  • Your work will directly determine how quickly and effectively we can integrate new labs, scale technician productivity, and deliver a consistent experience to customers across the country.
  • This role is designed as a CIO succession path as the company continues to grow.

We value our team and offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including:

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
