IT Operations Manager

Remote

THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional IT Operations Manager to join our Accredited Labs team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team and have a direct impact in scaling and securing our technology ecosystem across a growing national network of calibration labs.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience across IT operations, cloud infrastructure, identity management, and business systems — paired with the drive to build scalable, secure foundations in a fast-moving, acquisitive environment.

This position is based out of Remote / Nationwide.

As our IT Operations Manager, you will be the owner of day-to-day IT operations — managing our MSP, network and cloud infrastructure, identity platform, and core business applications. This role is pivotal in enabling Accredited Labs to scale securely, integrate newly acquired sites quickly, and deliver consistently high-quality service across our network. Reporting to the Sr. Director, IT, you’ll partner closely with the Director of Integration, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Marketing teams.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • MSP & Vendor Management: Own the relationship with our Managed Service Provider, setting expectations, SLAs, and priorities across help desk and end-user support, network and firewall / NOC, server and cloud administration, and security and compliance operations. Hold vendors accountable, review tickets and performance, and escalate effectively.
  • Network & Infrastructure: Manage the design, health, and performance of corporate and lab networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, switching). Oversee physical and virtual server infrastructure, storage, and backup/DR across our locations, ensuring uptime, capacity, and resilience as we add sites.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Consolidation: Administer our cloud footprint across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and Google Workspace / GCP, and lead the consolidation of cloud infrastructure onto AWS as our standard platform. Manage tenants, accounts, networking, cost, configuration, endpoint management (Intune), and configuration drift across environments.
  • Identity & Access Management: Own JumpCloud as our identity management platform — directory, SSO, MFA / conditional access, device trust, and user lifecycle automation. Drive least-privilege access, identity hygiene, and clean onboarding and offboarding across all systems.
  • Systems Administration & Integration: Serve as the primary administrator for key business applications (NetSuite, IndySoft, Salesforce, HubSpot), managing user accounts, permissions, security settings, system updates, and data hygiene. Implement, monitor, and maintain integrations between platforms using APIs and integration tools.
  • IT Security & Endpoint Operations: Partner with the MSP to operate our security stack — EDR, email security, vulnerability management, patching, backup integrity, and incident response — keeping endpoints and servers healthy, current, and protected.
  • User Support & Enablement: Provide Tier-2 / Tier-3 support to internal teams as the escalation point above the MSP. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and develop training resources and documentation to improve user adoption and proficiency.
  • Process Automation & Continuous Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies across IT operations and the business systems stack, and recommend or implement system enhancements, customizations, or automation to improve operational productivity.
  • M&A and Site Integration: Lead the IT side of integrating newly acquired locations — networks, identity, endpoints, applications, and data — onto our standard stack on a predictable timeline.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Team Growth: Work with third-party consultants, integration partners, and software vendors to escalate complex issues and drive timely resolutions. Partner internally with Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to align technology solutions with business priorities. As the environment scales, hire and lead a small internal IT team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems administration, including direct ownership of network and cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a Managed Service Provider or external vendors against SLAs, including help desk, network/NOC, and security operations.
  • Hands-on administration across Microsoft 365 / Azure, AWS, and Google Workspace / GCP, with experience leading or contributing to a cloud consolidation or migration onto AWS.
  • Experience administering an identity management platform such as JumpCloud, Okta, or Entra ID — SSO, MFA / conditional access, directory, and lifecycle automation.
  • Strong networking fundamentals: firewalls, VLANs, VPN, Wi-Fi, and multi-site connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and NetSuite; familiarity with IndySoft, HubSpot, or similar platforms a plus.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, ETL tools, or middleware solutions, and a basic understanding of database concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with a proven ability to translate technical issues into business language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft / Azure, AWS, Cisco / network, Salesforce Administrator, NetSuite Administrator) a plus.
  • Experience integrating IT environments through M&A or multi-site rollouts.
  • Experience supporting lab, manufacturing, or instrument-connected environments.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
