Branch Manager (IPM)

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational, administrative, and customer service activities within an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration laboratory. This role ensures the branch meets financial, quality, and service objectives while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and company policies. The Branch Manager serves as the primary leader for branch operations, driving efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team development. 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage day-to-day branch operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization. 
  • Ensure timely completion of calibration services and adherence to turnaround commitments. 
  • Monitor branch performance metrics (productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction) and implement improvement plans. 

Quality & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with Technical Manager and Quality Coordinator to maintain ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance. 
  • Support internal/external audits and accreditation assessments; ensure corrective actions are implemented. 
  • Uphold company policies, safety standards, and ethical practices across all branch activities. 

Customer & Contract Management:

  • Review customer requests, tenders, and contracts for feasibility and alignment with branch capabilities. 
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution. 
  • Oversee subcontracting and vendor approvals for equipment and services. 

Financial & Business Development:

  • Manage branch budget, monitor expenses, and ensure profitability targets are met. 
  • Identify opportunities for growth through new services, customer acquisition, and local partnerships. 
  • Prepare and present branch performance reports to senior leadership. 

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor branch staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans. 
  • Promote collaboration between technical and administrative teams to achieve branch goals. 

Professional Skills:

  • Strong understanding of calibration services and laboratory operations. 
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements and quality management principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with calibration management software. 
  • Highly organized, decisive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. 
  • Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and impartiality. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a technical or regulated environment. 
  • Experience managing teams and budgets. 
  • Knowledge of calibration processes and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation preferred.
