Chief of Staff, Founder & Executive Chairman’s Office
Overview:
AccuWeather is seeking a highly experienced Chief of Staff to support its Founder and Executive Chairman. This role is designed for someone who can serve as a strategic and operational extension of a highly engaged Founder & Executive Chairman with evolving priorities while helping oversee the effectiveness, coordination, and execution flow of the Executive Office.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and coordination of the Founder’s Office, ensuring alignment of priorities, and driving execution across internal and external stakeholders. This is not a traditional administrative role, but rather a leadership position focused on ownership, coordination, and influence.
This role is primarily remote, with expected monthly travel to the State College, PA office for approximately 2–3 days at a time to support executive collaboration, leadership meetings, relationship-building, and ongoing operational alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Partnership:
- Act as a strategic right hand to the Founder, ensuring priorities are clearly defined and executed
- Anticipate needs and proactively manage competing priorities
- Serve as a liaison between the Founder and executive leadership
Office Leadership & EA Coordination:
- Provide leadership and structure across the Executive Assistant team
- Establish workflows, communication standards, and accountability
- Ensure cohesion across the office, especially when priorities shift
Strategic Oversight of Calendar & Time:
- Provide strategic oversight of the Founder’s calendar to ensure alignment with business priorities
- Ensure the Founder’s time and calendar remain aligned with the organization’s highest-impact priorities
- Partner with administrative support staff to execute scheduling and logistics
Travel & Meeting Optimization:
- Ensure travel is aligned with business objectives and optimized for impact
- Oversee meeting effectiveness by ensuring proper preparation, agenda clarity, and outcomes
Execution & Operations:
- Translate executive ideas into actionable plans and ensure follow-through
- Track key initiatives and ensure accountability across teams
- Help accelerate execution across strategic initiatives by improving prioritization, organizational coordination, communication flow, and operational follow-through across leadership teams.
- Track executive priorities, communications, and key initiatives to help ensure projects continue progressing effectively, the appropriate stakeholders remain aligned, and organizational efforts stay focused on the highest-impact priorities
- Simplify complex operational discussions and evolving ideas into organized action plans, clear ownership, and executable next steps.
Executive Communication:
- Draft and manage high-level correspondence on behalf of the Founder
- Interface with senior executives and external stakeholders
- Attend and help coordinate recurring meetings with the CEO and executive leadership team, along with committee and action-oriented meetings across marketing, sales, product development, and strategic initiatives to support organizational alignment, prioritization, communication flow, and execution across key initiatives.
Administrative Excellence (High-Level):
- Prepare executive materials, briefings, and summaries
- Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive business and personal information with professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and reliability.
Qualifications
- 7+ years supporting C-suite executives within founder-led, private company, high-growth, or fast-paced environments, including experience supporting highly engaged Founder and/or CEO leadership structures
- Experience in a Lead or Senior Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, Executive Business Partner, or hybrid executive operations role supporting senior leadership
- Experience managing or coordinating other Executive Assistants
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, founder-led environments
- Strong emotional intelligence and executive presence
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate independently and influence cross-functionally
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prior experience working remotely while supporting executive leadership
