ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
Job Summary
As an Assistant Controller for Acendion Capital & Development, you serve as a strategic partner for all accounting activities, compliance, and reporting. Additionally, the position requires deep accounting expertise and strong financial leadership capabilities, with the ability to provide insightful recommendations and influence key stakeholders through expert financial analysis and strategic guidance independently. The most rewarding part of this role is being a key leader of a new organization with coaching and career ownership of the Fischer Group finance and accounting organization.

These skills will be used to:
- Lead all aspects of accounting for Acendion, including providing strategic financial guidance to leadership.
- Provide strong GAAP expertise and consulting across the business, while ensuring all operations and reports are managed in accordance with GAAP and Company standards
- Manage construction loan processes, including submission of draws, coordination of field inspections, etc.
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, annual audit and tax requirements.
- Provide accounting leadership on new development projects, including monitoring costs, analyzing variances and recommending how to mitigate negative trends, while maintaining project-specific accounts and financials.
- Facilitate and review cash flows to and from investors and portfolio companies, and prepare detailed financial reports for project investors and bank compliance reporting.
- Identify and assess risks & opportunities, engaging leaders to mitigate key risks.
- Develop and implement digital solutions and technologies that accelerate the close and provide detailed financial analysis of actuals to improve business insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA/CA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in accounting roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial statements and general ledger management
- Experience in financial controls and financial reporting for external investors
- Experience and background with accounting ERP’s and other related technologies
- Job Costing and Project Accounting Experience, especially in the construction industry
