Description:
This is a Part-Time mobile position working with families and caregivers in home or community settings to provide Specialized Instruction for clients who are birth to (3) three years of age. Specialized instruction addresses cognition and behavioral development. The position can move to a Full-time position as the assigned caseload increases.
The successful applicant must understand transferring skills to parents/guardians/caregivers to address the infant or toddler’s developmental needs. The applicant must be able to build rapport with the child and family to ensure that transfer of skills occurs effectively and that the child and family feel supported in the positive changes they are making.

Applicants will have a flexible schedule to meet the scheduling needs of the setting and child served, including some evening availability.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates excellent clinical care in providing discipline-specific therapy services, thorough knowledge of the child developmental process and competency in working with a variety of disorders that present in the birth to age three (3) populations. These duties may also occur via tele-intervention under certain circumstances when permitted by regulatory bodies and payors, and if clinically appropriate.
- Demonstrates a firm understanding of and utilizes the Early Intervention Early Learning Standards in providing care.
- Actively engages client(s)/parent(s) in therapeutic process through use of a coaching model to instruct the family on how to interact/work with their child.
- Provides instruction to address established goals on the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and checks with family for understanding of information/instructions.
- Delivers maximum amount of service in the location specified in the IFSP.
- Utilizes Collaborative Documentation to document all service interactions with family in a timely manner.
- Strongly advocates for clients/families served and promotes a positive environment/ culture by actively working with others to attain the agency’s mission and economic objectives.
- Updates processes in accordance with changes to county, state, and federal Early Intervention program standards.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies, and (1) one year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families or a university-supervised or college-supervised student practicum or teaching experience with preschool children with disabilities and their families. OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university which includes 15 credit hours in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, or family studies; and one (1) year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families; and demonstrated knowledge, understanding and skills needed to address age-appropriate behavior.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage and consistent access to a reliable vehicle.
- Mandated Reporter and Safety Care Training within 30 days of hire.
- Provide clearances with a clean record, free from allegations or findings related to abuse, neglect, exploitation or other criminal acts against children, i.e. Act 33, Act 34 or FBI Clearance.
