At ACI Learning, we’re on a mission to transform lives through technical education. Our Tech Academy prepares learners for high-demand careers in IT and cybersecurity, and our Career Mentors play a critical role in helping them take that final step from training to employment.As a Career Mentor, you’ll guide learners through their career journey while building meaningful relationships with employers looking for emerging tech talent. You’ll coach students on job search strategy, help them build confidence as professionals, and expand the network of employers who hire ACI graduates.This role blends career coaching, employer partnership development, and student advocacy. If you’re passionate about workforce development and enjoy helping people launch their careers while connecting companies with great talent, this role offers the chance to make a real impact.This is a hybrid role requiring at least four days per week on campus.
What You’ll Do
Career Coaching & Student Success
Provide 1:1 and group career coaching to learners throughout their training with a focus on employment readiness and job placement
Develop personalized Career Plans using insights from the Enrollment Readiness Assessment to support each student’s strengths, goals, and potential barriers
Conduct pre-graduation check-ins to ensure students are aligned on career goals and prepared for the job search
Support students in building strong professional materials including resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and interview readiness
Teach students how to effectively use CareerConnect tools, including the resume builder, job board, AI career coach, and networking tracker
Monitor student engagement with career resources and conduct proactive outreach when support is needed
Employer Partnerships & Talent Placement
Build and maintain a pipeline of employer partners hiring IT and cybersecurity talent
Partner with Strategic Partnerships to expand employer relationships and job opportunities for graduates
Position ACI Learning’s programs as a scalable workforce development solution for employers
Support employer engagement through career fairs, industry events, and hiring initiatives aligned with graduation cycles
Onboard employers to the CareerConnect platform and encourage its use for posting jobs, sourcing candidates, and sharing interview feedback
Events & Industry Engagement
Plan and host monthly career events and workshops connecting learners with industry professionals and hiring managers
Coordinate virtual and on-site career fairs for graduating cohorts
Promote employer participation in career events and strengthen ACI’s presence in the tech hiring community
Outcomes, Data & Compliance
Track and document graduate employment outcomes in Salesforce and the ACI CareerConnect platform
Maintain accurate records aligned with federal, state, VA, accreditation, and company compliance requirements
Monitor employment outcomes and support graduates until successful job placement
What Success Looks Like
Graduates secure in-field employment quickly, meeting progressive placement benchmarks at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days post-graduation
Students complete key career readiness milestones including resume, LinkedIn, and interview preparation
Employer engagement grows through new partnerships, job leads, and industry events
Graduates and employers become advocates for the program, contributing testimonials, reviews, and feedback that strengthen ACI’s reputation
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field
Substitution: Relevant experience in career services, staffing/recruiting, HR, or workforce development may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
At least 1 year of experience in career services, career coaching, recruiting, human resources, or workforce development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Salesforce CRM
Experience supporting students in vocational or career training environments

Ability to coach, motivate, and inspire learners navigating their career transition
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both students and employers
Familiarity with modern job search platforms, networking strategies, and professional branding tools
Experience planning and hosting career events or employer engagement activities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple learners and employer relationships simultaneously
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
