
Manager, District and Section Communications
The Manager, District and Section Communications directs and implements strategic communications initiatives for ACOG Districts and Sections while ensuring alignment between local and national messaging priorities. Create and deliver comprehensive communications support, tools, and resources that empower District leaders to effectively engage their members, promote local initiatives, and strengthen District operations. Serve as a key liaison between national communications efforts and District leadership to foster consistent, high-quality member engagement across all organizational levels. As an integral part of the Communications team, this role will report to the Director, Communications and in close collaboration with the District and Sections team.
Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage communications strategies specifically tailored for ACOG Districts and Sections, ensuring alignment with national messaging while supporting regional objectives.
• Create and maintain district-specific content templates and toolkits that can be customized for their local audiences.
• Oversee the production and distribution of district newsletters, ensuring timely, relevant, and engaging content for local membership audiences.
• Support District Managers leadership with communications guidance, including templates for announcements, event promotions, and member updates.
• Coordinate with District Managers and District leadership to gather local member stories, events, and initiatives for broader organizational promotion.
• Manage a content calendar specific to District activities and ensure proper integration with overall organizational communications.
• Provide training and support to District Managers and volunteers on communication tools, best practices, and brand guidelines.
• Create and maintain District-specific sections of the website, ensuring information is current and accessible.
• Develop metrics and reporting systems to track District communication effectiveness and engagement.
• Facilitate cross-District communication and sharing of best practices for member engagement.
• Support District events with promotional materials, registration communications, and follow-up content in conjunction with event marketing plans.
• Collaborate with the membership team to develop targeted communications for District-level member recruitment and retention.
• Assist Districts in managing their social media presence and local digital communications strategies.
• Create and maintain a repository of District-specific content and resources that can be shared across chapters.
• Attend District and Section Activities meetings to provide updates.
• Create and present Districts and Sections with communication tools, resources and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated customer service proficiency, exhibiting high standards of timeliness and responsiveness
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated proficiency in copywriting and developing member-focused content across channels (such as email, website pages, social media, e-newsletters, print materials)
• Excellent collaboration skills (i.e., creating and working in a team environment, analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills)
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Familiarity and basic proficiency using email platforms (Magnet Mail) and presentation tools (PowerPoint)
Education and Experience:
• BS/BA degree required, preferably in communications, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in communications in the health field
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary Range
$70,000 - $80,000 USD
