
Benefits & Total Compensation, Specialist
The Benefits & Total Compensation Specialist supports the administration of employee benefits, wellness initiatives, and compensation-related projects, while assisting with core HR functions. This role partners closely with the Senior Director, Human Resources to support the annual benefits cycle, benefits compliance, and employee communications, and works collaboratively with the HRBP on broader HR initiatives. The position plays an important role in supporting employee well-being, maintaining compliance, and contributing to overall organizational effectiveness.
Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration & Wellness
- Support company-wide initiatives, programs, and policy changes while contributing to a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
- In collaboration with ACOG’s Benefits Broker and under the guidance of the Senior Director, Human Resources, administer all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, leave of absence, transportation subsidy, education assistance, wellness programs, and workers’ compensation.
- Oversee day-to-day benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollments, terminations, change reporting, vendor coordination, and employee support.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute annual Open Enrollment and ACOG’s Benefits Fair, partnering with internal teams and external vendors.
- Prepare and distribute clear employee communications related to benefits, wellness programs, compensation updates, and HR policies.
- Ensure benefits-related compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits and wellness inquiries, providing timely and accurate support.
Compensation & HR Operations
- Support annual compensation processes, including salary surveys, benchmarking, job evaluations, and internal equity reviews.
- Assist with interim pay requests, tuition reimbursement requests, and other compensation-related changes.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain HR data related to compensation, benefits, and workforce metrics to support recommendations and continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports and dashboards related to benefits utilization, compensation data, and HR trends as needed.
Leave Management & Compliance
- Support and assist with Short-Term Disability (STD), FMLA, and other leave calculations in coordination with payroll and third-party administrators.
- Partner with Senior Director, Human Resources on benefits-related aspects of employee separations and terminations, including COBRA and final benefits processing.
- Maintain accurate HRIS data, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and timely processing of status changes, organizational updates, and title changes.
- Process employee status change forms and maintain confidential personnel records in accordance with data privacy requirements.

- 3 days/week on-site in Washington, DC
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Human Resources certification (SHRM, PHR, etc.), preferred
- Minimum 3 years related experience
Salary Range
$63,000 - $73,000 USD
