Assistant Manager - Inventory

Job Summary
The Associate Inventory Manager supports the Inventory Manager by executing daily inventory control functions, maintaining system accuracy for specific areas, and implementing best practices to ensure operational flow and minimize inventory loss.
Main Responsibilities
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Support the Inventory Manager in improving inventory accuracy and reducing stock variance.
- Execute and monitor daily cycle counts and assist with weekly/monthly counts.
- Investigate and report discrepancies for resolution.
- Assist in the planning and execution of the year-end physical stock count.
Loss & Damage Prevention
- Monitor and report on inventory damage and loss trends.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement minor corrective actions as directed.
- Support the timely write-up/write-off processes.
Packaging Inventory
- Execute daily monitoring of packaging stock levels.
- Perform timely packaging counts and adjustments.
Vendor & Product Flow
- Support the accuracy and timeliness of the VRN (Vendor Return Notes) process.
- Coordinate the accuracy and timeliness of the stock transfer process.
- Assist in managing inventory related to clearance and disposal.
System Accuracy & Reporting
- Assist in keeping location master and item master updated regularly.
- Maintain accurate system records for all daily inventory movements.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on stock health metrics for review by the Inventory Manager.
Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure team adherence to SOPs for all daily inventory activities.
- Coordinate effectively with inbound/outbound and quality teams on daily tasks.
- Organize documentation to support audit readiness.
5S
- Champion and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace following 5S principles.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain (less experience than a Manager).
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role is preferred.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
Solid understanding of inventory control principles, including cycle counting and discrepancy resolution.
- Working proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for day-to-day issue resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to manage team coordination.
- Ability to follow and implement improvement strategies and best practices.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
