The Role
As a Software Engineering Manager within Acrisure Innovation, you’ll be an essential part of the team building a world-class data lakehouse platform, architecture, and content to transform Acrisure’s business strategy. This is a cross functional leadership role that involves collaborating with the product team, analytics teams, other engineering leaders and stakeholders.
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing people, resources and processes necessary to deliver on achieving data enablement goals. The role also includes providing input to strategic planning for forward looking initiatives.
Our Data Lakehouse is built upon a Google and Microsoft hybrid cloud tech stack. We are building a digital marketplace technology that runs on Google Cloud and is configured with Kubernetes, leveraging various services in that environment. Our data storage layer includes BigQuery, Databricks, Azure, and Postgres. We code primarily in Spark, Scala, Python, Kotlin, Java, and JavaScript and make use of many frameworks including Dataflow, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, dbt, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Cloud AI Platform, Spring, and React.

You may be fit for this role if you:
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with a strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and engineering principles.
- Have 5+ years of industry experience as technical contributor on data platforms including 2+ years of experience being a technical lead
- Have expertise with modern software tools, libraries, and languages, with experience delivering production code at scale.
- Are product and customer focused, with a passion for delighting the end user.
- Possess empathy, kindness towards others, a positive attitude, and self-awareness.
- Are willing and able to work from the headquarters in Austin, Texas.
- Are excited to work for an early stage company to experiment, discover product-market fit and are focused on maximizing business impact.
