The Field Safety Officer plays a critical role in ensuring safe work practices as well as other compliance efforts are being achieved across our operating assets. As a member of the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) Team, this role focuses on identifying needs and requirements, developing plans to ensure compliance is achieved, and aids in providing insight into HSSE performance at a site level.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field-based audits/assessments focused on HSSE elements
- Work with operations team to identify concerns and provide solutions
- Develop and maintain asset-level risk register
- Assist in (and in some cases lead) incident investigations and oversee the implementation of corrective measures
- Assist with training
- Provide guidance in terms of PPE selection and deployment
- Ensure overall compliance with PGR HSSE Managed System is being achieved at the asset level
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a safety capacity including but not limited to; behavior based safety, safety systems, risk assessments, audits, basic safety training
- Prior working experience with solar and BESS installations, ideally at utility scale
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
- Valid Driver’s License
- Familiar with OSHA 29CFR1910, 29CFR1926, NFPA 70E, IEEE1984 and other regulatory standards
- Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Work is to be performed outdoors at various job sites.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required.
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
