The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and tax obligations. This role is pivotal in managing the month-end close process and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Month End Close
- Complete all miscellaneous account reconciliations.
- Post all accruals and adjustments.
- Manage all self-insured health insurance adjustments and reconciliations.
- Review trial balances.
Financials
- Maintain Cash Model (CapEx) in Smartsheet.
- Financial analysis as needed.
- Maintain 4-week cash forecast.
- Assist with yearly Audit.
Payroll
- Validate payroll bimonthly before finalized.
- Post payroll journal entries.
- Confirm HSA reconciliation.
Sales and Use Tax
- Research sales and use tax in new states.
- Remit sales and use taxes monthly/quarterly/as due.
- Maintain tax tracker.
- Collection exemption certificates, as needed.
Intacct
- Project/vendor/customer/new user setup.
- Maintain Intacct configurations.
- Create various Intacct reports for analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable Processor
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Intacct and Smartsheet.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations.
- Experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal periods of sitting and standing in an office environment.
- Extended periods of sitting at a workstation/desk in an office environment.
