This position is in the Corporate Actuarial Department. This role is at the center of the company’s ambitious growth strategy by primarily focusing on new Institutional deal onboarding, while also helping support our Bermuda actuarial team’s model development needs. The position offers great exposure and opportunities to interact with experienced professionals across multiple actuarial and business functions in the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist onboarding new deals to existing valuation modeling platform by
- Reviewing and studying deal related documents such as liability assumptions, policy forms, and reinsurance treaties;
- Performing due diligence to ensure product and treaty requirements are properly implemented in the interim pricing model, primarily in AFM;
- Building excel validation tool from 1st principles that replicates the model logic and provides assurance that the logic has been implemented accurately; and
- Facilitating model signoff by presenting model results and reconciliation to key stakeholders such as pricing, valuation, and modeling;
- Support financial reporting for US GAAP, US Stat, and Bermuda BEL/EV using adapted version of pricing model for new deals during transitional period.
- Support new deal data onboarding during transitional period by leveraging Python for data transformation, such as building liability inforce files and economic scenarios for model runs.
- Occasionally support offshore model development by helping code Bermuda-specific valuation requirements into MG-ALFA or developing ETLs in Milliman’s end-to-end model production platform, Integrate.
- As needed, support internal and external audit activities as well as regulatory exams and inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or other related fields
- Self-starter and quick learner, being able to solve complex issues independently and in collaborative team settings
- Strong communication, technical and analytical skills
- Strong controls mindset, including documentation and change management best practices
- Experience with MG-ALFA / Integrate, AFM, Python and similar languages a plus
- US GAAP, Statutory and Bermuda valuation experience a plus
- Ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
