Communications Associate, Social and Video Content
Acumen is looking for a Communications Associate to join the marketing and communications team and work with our founder and CEO Jacqueline Novogratz. This role reports to the Communications Director to the CEO. We are seeking someone passionate about amplifying our founder’s inspirational voice across platforms. This role would be based in New York. Our office is working under a hybrid model and working in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The Marketing and Communications team are the guides and stewards of our brand voice. They shape how, when and where it comes to life. As strategists, writers, designers, data practitioners and makers, they seek effective and creative ways to inform, empower and meaningfully connect with our audiences globally. Through audience definition, campaign strategies, content, PR, events and partnerships they drive visibility and memorability of our thought leadership, insights and brand story.
About the role
The Community Associate, Social and Video Content role will be responsible for managing our CEO’s online channels and supporting the Communications Director to the CEO in helping shape and activate her narrative across owned and earned content. The role will require experience crafting editorial calendars and content, and measuring impact and engagement.
Specifically the Community Associate will be responsible for:
- Creating, editing, and posting engaging video content, serving as a “studio” for our CEO’s communications
- Maintaining editorial calendars across our CEO’s online channels and scheduling posts
- Partnering with our in-house story studio to create multimedia content, including videos, photos and graphics for LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other channels.
- Monitoring and moderating above channels
- Reviewing analytics and implementing learnings to ensure audience growth and engagement
- Maintaining internal photo and video libraries
- General research and communications administrative tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in community management
- Proficiency in video creation and editing and the ability to produce polished, engaging content for social media
- Strong writing and copy editing skills
- Familiarity with community management tools and software for planning, monitoring and analytics
- Experience with Canva
- Excellent project and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle confidential matters and information with discretion
- Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen’s values
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (based in NY, or willing to relocate to NY for this role)

The salary range for this role in NY is $60,000 to $70,000 plus a performance-based bonus. This range represents the present low and high end of pay range for this role. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience. Acumen has equal pay, so pay is determined through comparison to a cohort of employees in market at the same level of accountability.
