We’re looking for a Senior Security Operations Specialist to join our team! You will play a critical role in both Ada's operational security and product security by leveraging your deep understanding of security principles, practices, and cutting-edge technologies.

Working closely with the Manager of Security Operations, your primary responsibility will be leading a large portion of day to day security operations. You will act as both an operator and administrator for key security systems, ensuring robust visibility and management of various security functions such as IDS, EDR, MDR, TPRM, SAST/DAST, SSPM, etc. On some days this will involve responding to alerts, using your expertise to prioritize those that require urgency, and working with relevant teams to address true positives. On other days you might spend your time optimizing these tools to reduce false positives or further their efficiency.

Additionally, you will act as a key contributor to security-related projects such as exploring new tools, re-architecting deployments, coordinating external penetration testing, implementing procedures to enhance our security posture. You will also provide technical security guidance during product development, participate in regular vulnerability scans, and collaborate with stakeholders to address potential weaknesses. As a security champion, you will advocate for best practices, empower teams to prioritize security, and play a key role in fostering a culture of security within Ada.

About You

  • Operational Security Experience: 5+ years of experience in a dedicated security role involving a wide variety of operational security (e.g. code security, application security, threat detection, vulnerability scanning, compliance audits, policy management, vendor risk management, etc.), with emphasis on managing and responding to security events.
  • Cloud Operations Experience: 3+ years of experience working within and applying your security expertise to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), particularly within containerized, application development environments.
  • Initiative and Drive: You take the initiative to identify areas for improvement and proactively lead efforts to enhance security processes and systems. You’re not just reactive to issues but are always looking for ways to innovate and strengthen our security program.
  • Analytical Problem Solver: You aren’t afraid of complex challenges, and approach problems methodically, using your expertise to identify, diagnose, and ultimately resolve them.
  • Communication and Collaboration: You have strong communication abilities, with a proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with varying technical knowledge, and sometimes conflicting objectives.
  • (Preferred) Relevant Certifications: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CEH that validate expertise in cybersecurity operations.

Outcomes

  • Security Tool Management: Operate and administer key security systems and tools (e.g., IDS, EDR, DAST, etc.) to maintain and improve Ada’s operational security, with a focus on automation and comprehensive threat detection.
  • Threat Monitoring and Incident Response: Continuously monitor and analyze data sources to detect security threats, participate in incident investigations, and contribute to 24/7/365 incident response.
  • Proactive Security Engagement: Provide security expertise during product development, conduct vulnerability scans, and recommend improvements to prevent and address potential security weaknesses.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborate on security initiatives, and support project work aimed at enhancing Ada's security posture.
  • Security Advocacy and Compliance: Act as a security champion within Ada, promoting best practices, participating as a security subject matter expert, and maintaining readiness for 24/7/365 security response.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
