Frontend Developer

Adapter was founded in 2022 by Adam Ghetti and Dr. David Bader, with the support of some of the most esteemed Tier 1 Silicon Valley firms and individual entrepreneurs. We are a small but dedicated team, currently working towards solving a significant problem. We recognize the importance of being early movers in this field, and have assembled a well-supported and passionate team to do so.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a frontend developer who will play a key role in shaping and creating the product, which at its core aims to empower individuals through thoughtful collaboration with intelligent technology. You will partner with a brilliant team of engineers and innovators and will be at the cutting edge of some of the most interesting consumer use-cases for intelligent technologies.

We have established a culture that promotes both remote work and in-person collaboration, with team members currently dispersed around the country with hubs in Austin, NYC, and the Bay Area. We believe that integrating these two elements allows for maximum productivity and creativity as we strive to achieve our goal.

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with product and design to bring new features and capabilities to a visually appealing consumer journey. 
  • Collaborate with the back-end teams to integrate frontend features with server-side logic.
  • Participate in the design and architecture of software systems and technology stack, ensuring best practices and scalability.
  • Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work with designers to implement design specs and translate components to code.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve our frontend technology stack.
  • Leverage UX engineering and HCI best practices to implement compelling and user friendly interfaces.

Qualifications: 

  • Proven expertise in frontend engineering with a profound passion for creating and maintaining complex consumer-facing products on both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency in modern frontend technologies and frameworks such as React, Next, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; must be able to effectively and clearly communicate vision and objectives with the team and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the demonstrated ability to align design goals with key objectives and priorities.
  • A good understanding of interaction with server-side technologies using protocols like REST, GraphQL,  and RPC.
  • Experience designing and developing testing solutions using frameworks such as selenium, cypress, or playwright.
  • Experience working on highly scalable / distributed consumer facing solutions.
  • Experience identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, security concerns, and other technical challenges.

Desired:

  • Experience with AI / ML systems.
  • Experience with deployment strategies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Storybook or similar component library tools.
  • Familiarity with UI design tools such as Figma.
  • Experience with mobile-first responsive design.

Work Experience: 

  • 5-7+ years of experience as a frontend engineer.
  • Startup experience is a plus.

United States - Remote Pay Range

$180,000 - $225,000 USD
