Adapture Renewables, Inc. is on a mission to be a leader in this new era of sustainable energy. Drawing upon an extensive knowledge base, we develop, finance, engineer, build, own, and operate high quality utility-scale photovoltaic projects and battery energy storage projects. Our Engineering team is looking for a talented Director of Engineering to help support the efforts of our fast-growing company. Adapture Renewables is owned by KIRKBI – the private holding and investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family founded to build a sustainable future for the LEGO® brand through generations.

 

 

Overview

 

This position will lead our Engineering team in support of all Development and Pre-Construction Stage projects and will report to the VP of EPC and work out of the Oakland, CA headquarters. The ideal candidate will utilize existing company tools and processes, as well as establish new tools and processes as required to ensure internal and external company experts and resources are in place for timely and accurate deliverables on tasks and projects. This position will also support contract technical reviews for EPCs, Equipment Inspections, Quality and Performance as well as project quality during the construction phase with the support of Pre-Construction and Construction teams.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Provide leadership & mentorship to the Engineering team in professional development, best practices and cross training.
  • Manage the Engineering team in the day-to-day fulfilment of support to Development stage, and Construction stage activities.
  • Define project & task scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project execution.
  • Maintain quality and repeatability in analysis, reports, designs engineering processes and deliverables.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 8+ years of industry experience in Utility scale sector of Renewables or demonstrably similarly industry.
  • BS in applicable Engineering discipline for the industry is required. Advanced degree a plus if it applies to the subject matter.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of multi-disciplined individuals.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software required.
  • Understand the use of software packages PSSE, ETAP of equivalent, PV Syst, SAM, LPile, Flow2D and similar.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, independently and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, with acute attention to detail and can complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be a task flexible, goal orientated, team contributor with proven communication and problem solving skillsets.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate tasks and goals to team members across departments.
