Our dynamic Project Management and Engineering (PME) team is seeking a skilled Project Manager to contribute to our mission of building a sustainable future. Based in Oakland, CA, you'll join a company backed by KIRKBI, the private holding company of the Kirk Kristiansen family and the foundation of the LEGO® brand.

 

Overview

 

The Project Manager role directly oversees and delivers assigned projects on schedule and within budget. You'll establish objectives, manage stakeholders, and direct Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) activities. Leading a team of project engineers, supply chain specialists, administrative staff, and owner site representatives, you will ensure smooth project execution across multiple large-scale solar projects.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Project Leadership: Oversee EPC turn-key solutions, manage contracts, budgets and schedules, and lead on-site construction.
  • Safety & Quality: Ensure compliance with company and EPC contractor safety and quality standards.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and cost forecasts, providing proactive solutions.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate resource availability and operational needs to ensure achievement of established goals across all projects
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain communication with project stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project budget and cash flow, and negotiate contractor change orders, optimizing project costs.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create and manage project schedules, documents, and reports.
  • Team Leadership: Direct assigned construction managers, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the PME "continual improvement process" and develop remote collaboration tools.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to refine business processes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6-12 years of experience in planning/scheduling and project management (self-motivated, detail-oriented).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, manage priorities, and handle pressure.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial electrical systems and NEC parameters.
  • Experience with large utility-scale solar and battery projects and utility interconnection.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Smartsheets, and similar project management tools.
  • Positive attitude, responsiveness, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in a fun and open office environment and travel to project sites once a month within the US (10%).
