We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and reliability, and designing impactful reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a commitment to data integrity, and experience with modern BI tools, particularly Azure Synapse and Power BI. As AI tools become increasingly central to business intelligence workflows, this role also requires the ability to implement, evaluate, and integrate AI-powered solutions into existing data environments. This individual is expected to consistently deliver the highest level of customer service and take initiative to anticipate needs, proactively addressing challenges before they arise.

Pay: Starts at $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: The standard work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, with flexibility as long as core hours (8:00 AM to 3:00 PM) are covered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following and must be completed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Troubleshoot support tickets to identify the root cause of the errors/issues and resolve them in a timely manner, ensuring a positive and solution-oriented experience for internal and external customers.
  • Monitor data refreshes within Power BI, SSIS data integrations, and Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric data pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving any failures to maintain seamless operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, recommending solutions to enhance overall system performance while anticipating potential bottlenecks or risks.
  • Design reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights, keeping customer needs and business objectives in mind.
  • Extract and analyze data using Microsoft Excel or Power BI, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy and clarity.
  • Test BI solutions for data accuracy and reliability, taking proactive measures to prevent issues before deployment.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain AI tools and AI-assisted features within the BI environment, including copilot features in Power BI, Azure AI services, and other relevant platforms.
  • Develop and document prompt engineering strategies and AI workflows to support data analysis, report generation, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI automation can enhance reporting, data pipelines, or business decision-making.
  • Ensure responsible and compliant use of AI tools, including adherence to data privacy standards, governance policies, and organizational guidelines for AI usage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives, organizational goals, and changing business needs.
  • Attend work, whether remotely or on-site, consistently and on time, adhering to scheduled hours and organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly while taking initiative to improve processes and anticipate business needs.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills that focus on proactive solutions.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure data integrity and accuracy with a commitment to quality in all deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, bias, and appropriateness before incorporating into business deliverables.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office products, Visual Studio, and SSMS.
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts, such as star schema and data modeling.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse and/or Microsoft Fabric is a must.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate and/or Power Apps) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with semantic models and Power BI serving as data sources for generative AI and natural language query experiences
  • Exposure to Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, or other Azure AI services for building enterprise AI solutions.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts as they apply to data analytics, including predictive modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and anomaly detection.
  • Knowledge of AI governance best practices, including responsible AI principles, data privacy considerations, and model transparency.
  • Data experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer operations, stooping, bending, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.

It is our company policy to provide, free of charge, the Hepatitis Vaccine Series for all employees of the company who may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
1.    Employees will be counseled upon hire regarding the vaccination series.
2.    Upon the signing of the proper form, the employee will begin their series at the next scheduled vaccination day after hiring.
3.    The series will be administered by a nurse at a designated clinic or hospital.
4.    Documentation will be kept in the employee's permanent Personnel File.
5.    When necessary, the Medical Director will determine follow up protocol.
Eligibility for Hepatitis Vaccine will be decided by the employee's supervisor based on their possible exposure to blood or body fluids during job performance, such as (but not limited to): Phlebotomy, Sample handling, Testing, Courier of Specimens, Direct patient contact/care, Janitorial Services.
