Job description
Addition Therapeutics is seeking a researcher with experience in T cell engineering and gene editing, either in industry or an academic setting. This individual would have experience in both primary lymphocyte culture and assays required to characterize edited T cells. This scientist may also have opportunities to work on projects outside of T cells.
About the Role
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
- Execution of experiments involving lymphocyte engineering, gene editing, immunology, synthetic biology, molecular biology, and cell biology.
- Collaborating on team projects.
- Communicating, documenting, and presenting work.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or related fields with 1+ years experience engineering T cells in industry or academia
- Experience in primary human T cell culture and T cell engineering
- Experience in RNA synthesis and purification by in vitro transcription
- Experience in non-viral gene delivery
- Experience in multi-color flow cytometry, DNA and RNA readout methods (ddPCR, RT-PCR, etc), and culture of cell lines
- Organized, motivated, and disciplined when it comes to hands-on work in the lab
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Thrives in a fast-moving, results-oriented startup environment
- Flexible, cooperative, can-do attitude
Preferred
- 3+ years experience engineering T cells in industry or academia
- T cell functional assays (e.g. cytotoxicity, exhaustion, activation)
- RNA delivery and expression of transgenes
- Understanding and execution of in vitro and in vivo CAR T mouse efficacy and safety studies
Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this contractor position is $55.00/hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
