Make an Impact/ The role:

As a Network Monitoring Engineer (Linux), you will be responsible for the monitoring of our infrastructure by making sure that it is fault-free and runs as smoothly as a Swiss clock. You will work together with the technical teams in order to guarantee a high service level.

Empower Your Potential/ Responsibilities: 

  • Own the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical, highly available production systems.
  • Serve as Incident Commander for production incidents by leading incident response, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, driving mitigation and recovery efforts, and ensuring clear, timely communication.
  • Perform incident detection, triage, escalation, and resolution, including fault registration, alert analysis, and initial root cause investigation.
  • Conduct first-level diagnostics on production systems, including SSH-based troubleshooting, service validation, controlled restarts, and storage capacity management.
  • Improve system resilience through proactive capacity planning, preventive maintenance, and operational housekeeping.
  • Operate, maintain, and evolve monitoring and alerting infrastructure using complex Zabbix and Grafana configurations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation and operational tooling to reduce manual effort and minimize operational toil.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response processes, runbooks, and operational best practices.

Bring Your Knowledge/ Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 0--2 years of experience with basic hands-on experience with Linux systems (e.g. Ubuntu, Gentoo), gained through work experience, internships, or personal projects.
  • Initial exposure to monitoring and alerting tools such as Zabbix or Nagios, or a strong interest in learning them.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or VictoriaMetrics is a plus but not required.
  • Basic experience using version control systems (e.g. Git) in a team or learning environment.
  • Some experience with scripting or programming (Python, Bash, Go, or similar), or motivation to develop automation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn incident response processes and follow runbooks during on-call or shift-based work.
  • Readiness to work in a day and night shift-based environment, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and eagerness to learn from more experienced engineers.
