Senior Software Engineer

At Adonis, we offer multiple solutions to assist medical providers in navigating the complexities of healthcare billing and receipt of payment for service. Billing and insurance related activities represent nearly $1 in every $7 collected by medical providers - and the high costs of collecting payments, as well as and other costs that stem from the administrative challenges within the space, unfortunately get passed down to the consumer. This is why healthcare costs continue to rise, with no end to that in sight. We’re set on helping to mitigate these challenges. While we are building a medical billing engine that automates billing workflows and improves reimbursement rates for medical providers, we at Adonis feel that there is always an aspect of healthcare billing that requires a human touch.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping, designing, and implementing features that enhance the medical billing experience. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management/design customer success and sales, to drive the architectural vision and technical roadmap. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, collaboration, and a passion for building exceptional products that make a difference in the lives of our users.

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of fullstack engineering experience using modern technologies (Python, TypeScript, React, PostGres), preferably at technology companies
  • Strong product sense: You leverage your customer understanding and empathy to make the right tradeoffs for what should be MVP, and what should come next
  • Strong systems design experience leading the design and architecture of complex, scalable, and efficient systems
  • Ability to prioritize smart speed: You have a good sense for how to focus on simplicity to ship a new piece of functionality without jeopardizing the architecture for the long-haul
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You should be comfortable “filling in the gaps” in product / design specs. The prospect of being able to prototype to test ideas out before committing to building is exciting to you.
  • Prior experience in building an analytics tool and/or Health Tech company

Main responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and robust software solutions, working across the entire stack to prototype and develop web applications with complex interaction patterns, flexible components, and an efficient backend.
  • Build and maintain server-side applications, APIs, and database management using technologies using Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, customer success, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Provide guidance on technical direction, system architecture, and project execution. Lead projects and act as a technical expert in systems design and development discussion.
  • Ensure high standards of code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to software engineering best practices. Mentor junior engineers and raise the level of your coworkers.

Minimum requirements:

  • Deep understanding of python, the latest python web frameworks, and using them to deliver and scale large client-facing applications (experience in other backend frameworks as well a plus).
  • Deep understanding of systems design paradigms, the tradeoffs they make, and the use cases they are best utilized in.
  • Experience in front-end development technologies, including Typescript frameworks such as React, and a strong foundation in CSS and JavaScript and web components..
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using industry standard technologies like Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Strong competency in how ORM's work and the tradeoffs associated with using them

Nice to have:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Active participation in design
  • Familiarity with AWS offerings like EC2, S3, and RDS
  • Experience using monitoring tools like Data Dog to ensure service reliability and robustness
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
