Overseeing the full lifecycle administration of IT assets, including end user hardware and software licenses. You'll be responsible for installing software, managing user accounts, troubleshooting service interruptions, and maintaining IT documentation.

Responsibilities

System and IT Administration:

  • Maintain, optimize, and automate the internal IT infrastructure, including running operational procedures, performing routine monitoring/maintenance and deploying application enhancements/updates within the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Advise on, and manage, IT operational and security processes, including security audits, log management, access rights, licensing, backup, SLAs, and disaster recovery, particularly within the Google Workspace / Google Cloud Platform environment and SaaS environments.
  • Manage relationships with external system support vendors, including defining service level agreements (SLAs), monitoring performance against SLAs, and ensuring effective issue resolution and escalation.
  • Investigate and resolve system problems and complex technical issues, including analyzing software updates and engaging suppliers when needed.
  • Support the setup, customization, installation, and de-installation of software environments, platforms, and components.
  • Contribute to infrastructure planning, implement changes, and manage small technical projects.
  • Assess, analyze, develop, document, and implement IT changes based on requests to ensure effective change control processes and procedures are followed.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain tools for managing the change request lifecycle.
  • Manage and maintain the IT knowledge database and IT service catalogue.

IT Security and Support

  • Serves as the primary point of contact and support for users, performing initial investigation and diagnosis of issues—resolving them when possible or escalating as needed—with a focus on core productivity systems and devices including Google Workspace, Asana, Harvest, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Apple laptops.
  • Develop and maintain application support procedures and documentation, contribute to developing service standards and enabling automation for service requests.
  • Develop and maintain standard IT operations procedures, technical guides, and instructions for repeatable processes.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, maintenance of the organization's security strategy and policies in a cloud-first environment.
  • Implement and refine monitoring systems, demonstrating a proactive approach to identifying and addressing system vulnerabilities and fulfilling evolving organizational requirements.
  • Administer and maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, including user provisioning/de-provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and privilege access management (PAM) in cloud and SaaS platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, development, and other teams to implement and enforce security controls in cloud and SaaS environments.
  • Assist in IT training efforts, including providing security awareness training, user onboarding, guidance on SaaS and productivity system use and security best practices.
  • Communicate security risks and remediation steps effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience

  • Expert with remote device management tools (Such as Cisco Meraki) with a primarily Apple based laptop fleet
  • Experienced with Google Workspace and Google Productivity tools
  • Experience with Google Cloud-based technology and infrastructure, particularly simple VM deployments and environment monitoring
  • Experience in managing external vendors.
  • Experience in providing systems administration for IT related issues in the Google Cloud Platform, Google Workspace and with SaaS providers such as Salesforce, Asana and Harvest.
  • Expert time management skills including work planning, prioritization, and organization
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities or tasks and drive resolutions to problems independently.
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership for the systems and services under their management.
  • Proven track record of managing workloads to consistently meet deadlines
