Data and Salesforce Manager
Advocates For Children (AFC) is a dynamic social justice organization that strives to ensure a high-quality education for New York students who face barriers to academic success, focusing on students from low-income backgrounds. JOB SUMMARY
AFC seeks a full-time detail-oriented, self-directed, and proactive Data and Salesforce Manager with proven Salesforce Administration experience to support our mission by managing the collection, maintenance, and reporting of program data in our Salesforce database. The Manager will be instrumental in AFC’s performance measurement and evaluation cycles, managing data analysis to evaluate organization-wide outcomes and impact. The Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Deputy Director who oversees AFC’s legal program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining AFC’s casework and training database in Salesforce, including users and permissions, de-duplication of records, flows, validation rules, and other maintenance
- Implementing and maintaining data governance best practices to ensure data integrity and quality
- Developing and implementing solutions in Salesforce to improve user experience, functionality, and integrations
- Producing analyses, reports, and data visualizations of program data for AFC leadership, staff, and funders for purposes of evaluation, reporting, and audits
- Working with AFC leadership and teams to manage AFC’s annual evaluation cycle, including but not limited to managing data collection for long-term impact evaluation, as well as developing and administering related surveys
- Facilitating the interpretation of data findings and refinement of program targets and benchmarks
- Managing contracts, billing, and licenses related to database and integrations
- Managing external consultants and vendors related to database and integrations
- Serving as AFC’s first response for questions, suggestions, and troubleshooting of the database and other data management tools
- Training staff on database use and data/database best practices
- Leading meetings of internal stakeholders about data trends and needed improvements
- Additional activities related to data(base) maintenance and analysis, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with academic training in statistics, data science, mathematics, or similar
- At least 2 years of experience in a Salesforce Administration role, ideally in a nonprofit or human services setting
- Salesforce Administrator Certification is strongly preferred, or enthusiasm about pursuing certification
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel
- Experience developing and administering surveys using online survey platforms
- Proven ability to analyze data, produce clean and compelling data visualizations, and share findings with executives and non-technical staff
- Attentiveness to accuracy and detail, with ability to create and maintain quality assurance measures
- Excellent technical skills and willingness to learn and adapt to new programs
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people with a wide range of comfort with technology
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Ability to think proactively, anticipate problems, and develop effective solutions

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position, with a salary in the range of $76,385- $82,000, depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
This position is expected to work at least 3 days a week in the office and remotely on the remaining days.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
AFC’s current compensation package includes medical and dental insurance, with a plan option that covers full payment of medical plan premiums for staff and their qualified dependents. AFC has generous time-off policies that include 10 federal holidays, office closure between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and 15 vacation days and 15 paid time off days in the first year of employment. AFC also currently offers a 403(b) plan with a fully vested employer match and coverage of the premium cost of life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance.
