Human Resources Business Partner

Adyen is looking for an HR Business Partner to contribute to two key areas in the growth and scale of our teams and culture across North America, where we recently won the 2023 Built in Best Places to Work award.

We are looking for an HRBP for our commercial and/or technology teams in NA. In this aspect of the role, you will be working with managers, leaders and employees in all people programs such as (but not limited to) culture, talent development, employee engagement and performance management. 

In this role, you will be working with the HR NA and Global Business Partners, HR Innovations, managers, leaders and employees across North America and Globally to ensure that we are creating a positive working environment, and to support the successful navigation through challenging moments. You will work closely with leaders to challenge and coach them on best practices to ensure we are creating the best experience and ways of working for our employees. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Be an effective sparring partner for team leads on all things related to people including team growth and development
  • Continuously coach leaders at all levels, to develop themselves and their teams by partnering regularly on how to increase their teams’ impact as we continue to grow and scale, while maintaining the Adyen Formula and culture
  • Facilitate talent planning that produces actionable strategies, including plans for talent acquisition, team development and growth of future leaders in alignment with business plans and priorities
  • Strong experience with Workday processes as an HRBP. Understanding of how to use data to tell a story in order to ensure action from the business
  • Challenge manager’s thinking when necessary and collaborate with them to make decisions that benefit the entire business
  • Support all Adyeners to help them grow and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Guide managers to apply our core values in their day-to-day decisions
  • Foster an environment rich in diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Partner with the HR Innovations and Employee Relations teams to get things done in a timely manner and provide our employees a seamless experience
  • Stay up to date with labor laws, employment regulations, and industry best practices

Who you are:

  • 3- 6 years of HRBP experience working with managers and leaders at all levels in a people partnering role at a high-pace company
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in HR practices, including performance management and employee relations
  • You have a strong sense of self and build trust quickly to become a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization
  • Thrives in an unstructured growing environment. We are building a growing global matrix organization
  • You’re excited to try new approaches, do things differently, and aren’t afraid to “build as you go”
  •  You have a continuous improvement mindset centered on enforcing our company’s culture while mitigating risk and increasing organizational efficiency 
  • You are able to question the status quo with managers and work with them to define new solutions to old problems
  • You are well versed in organizational dynamics, know what healthy, motivated, growing teams look like, and can give guidance on what to do to make this even better;
  • You’re hands-on, but know how to collaborate and prioritize (constantly looking for how things can be done more simply or automated)
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time. This includes global travel to Amsterdam and additional times to SF, NY and/or Chicago offices
  • You’re a change agent who thrives in a fast paced environment and can effectively engage those around you to get them excited about the future
  • Skilled in identifying problems and able to use fact-based analysis to develop efficient solutions
  • Excellent at communicating a point of view using both written and oral communication skills 
  • Skilled in project managing HR initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
