The senior copywriter role is focused on producing copy and content that meets Adyen's business goals, in line with marketing and brand objectives. You will work on a range of briefs, including complex projects, while applying a strong understanding of Adyen’s value proposition.

You are proficient in copywriting, content writing (with a strong portfolio of impactful short and long-form copy), editing, and have strong project management skills. You are commercially minded, with a strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to build and manage copy initiatives that drive business impact. As a senior copywriter, you’ll also mentor and coach your fellow writers.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as short-form copy lead for a variety of formats e.g. events, ad copy, social copy, landing pages, video scripts.
  • Support on long-form content writing, including SEO articles, reports, case studies, whitepapers, thought-leadership pieces. You may need to be on-the-ground for case studies and shoots that involve content creation.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business, marketing and brand goals when responding to a brief.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders and designers from ideation to delivery – maintaining high standards for quality, relevance and differentiation, and being diligent with details and deadlines.
  • Clearly communicate creative concepts to stakeholders representing strategic and viewpoints with confidence to build consensus within the team.
  • Drive content development by researching and curating background information, data, and audience insights, complemented by interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply performance insights to iterate and optimize messaging for clarity, tone, engagement, and conversion.
  • Bring a sharp eye to editing, ensuring all copy meets the highest standards of quality, grammar, and clarity. Ensure consistency with our brand voice, and alignment with commercial goals. Support on maintaining and evolving our brand style and guidelines based on market trends and user insights to maintain competitive positioning
  • Create and update writing templates and guidelines that can be used across studios, implementing new ways to work more efficiently.
  • Mentor writers across studios to ensure writing is at the highest quality. Act as an internal consultant and advocate for best-in-class copy and consistency.

Who you are:

  • 8+ years of experience in agency/in-house copywriting for B2B, fintech or relevant industries.
  • You have a portfolio with well-crafted and impactful brand, campaign and experience copy work, as well as examples of long-form content.
  • You are a storyteller: curious and keen to discern the motivations, behaviors, and preferences of our audiences.
  • You are curious and data-driven: you have a deep understanding of digital marketing channels, copywriting best practices, markers of success, and how messaging drives business impact.
  • You have an impeccable eye for detail and ability to approach tasks with a journalistic attitude to find the angles and stories that matter.
  • You have a good understanding of what it means to write for digital channels: blending user experience and channel best practices, and how they fit into the bigger picture of content marketing.
  • You have the ability to self-start, stick to deadlines, and drive projects forward – while being open and comfortable to iteration and feedback.
  • Excellent time management skills, including ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • You can build strong global working relationships across teams and timezones.
  • You have full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in US English.
