Senior Partner Solutions Engineer

Adyen is looking for a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer with a hands-on track record of working with technologies like APIs and front end development. You can plan and execute complex system integration projects, and your mastery of our technologies enables you to build and maintain deep technical relationships with our most important strategic partners. This role focuses on ensuring our partners can successfully leverage the full potential of the Adyen platform for their customers through expert technical guidance and problem solving, product roadmap alignment, and architectural recommendations.

As a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert in Adyen’s product offerings down to the API level, enabling you to serve as the primary long-term technical counterpart for our partners' engineering and product management teams. Your goal is to ensure partners architect and implement solutions that deliver the best of Adyen, driving mutual success and innovation. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management skills to influence both partner implementations and Adyen's internal product development.

This role is critical in ensuring Adyen's platform is scalably supportable by our partners and that partner feedback effectively shapes our product evolution. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting, influential relationships internally and with partners.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer, you will own the technical strategy and long-term success of Adyen's most critical partnerships. You will:

  • Serve as the primary, long-term technical advisor for partners' engineering and product leadership, guiding them on Adyen's platform capabilities and integration best practices.
  • Drive technical strategy and provide high-level architectural recommendations to ensure partners are integrating Adyen's solutions optimally to maximize value for their customers.
  • Leverage your deep software development expertise to guide partners in building robust, scalable, and high-quality solutions that effectively deliver Adyen’s products to their end-users.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional integration projects from conception to execution.
  • Act as a key technical escalation point, leading troubleshooting efforts for the most complex issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop a deep, strategic understanding of both Adyen's and key partners' product roadmaps to identify opportunities for synergy and innovation.
  • Champion partner needs with Adyen's internal Product and Engineering teams, using your influence to shape Adyen’s product roadmap and enhance the scalability and supportability of our offerings.

Who you are:

We are looking for a seasoned expert with a proven ability to lead and influence. You should have:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical consulting, solutions architecture, or partner engineering, with a history of working with complex web APIs and systems.
  • Expertise in multiple programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • A proven track record of establishing and nurturing strong, long-term technical relationships with senior engineering leaders and product managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to master new technologies and understand complex systems, including APIs, databases, and SDKs.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently lead technical discussions and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including executives internally and externally.
  • A strategic, growth-oriented mindset with a bias for action.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity, manage technical stakeholders effectively, and make critical decisions by collaborating with the appropriate individuals.

This role is based out of our New York office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.The annual base salary range for this role in New York is $198,000 - $276,000, plus RSUs; to learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here
