Strategy & Programs, Global Operations

This role reports into the Head of Strategy & Execution (S&E), Global Operations and sits within Adyen’s operations function, supporting one or more of Adyen’s pillars (digital, unified commerce, platforms and financial products). Operations consists of 4 domains:

  • Support
  • Professional Services
  • Merchant Operations
  • Supply Chain

The S&E team has 2 main focus areas: facilitating ops strategy development & planning, and driving global, highly strategic, cross-domain programs, central to our execution, with speed and scalability at its core. 

What you’ll do

You will play a key role in your scope, to facilitate and coordinate cross domain programs such as:

  • Provide leverage to the Head of Strategy & Execution by acting as a thought partner, shaping priorities, and ensuring operational follow-through on the most critical initiatives.
  • Set the bar for program management excellence within the team - professionalising outputs, codifying best practices, and mentoring more junior program managers.
  • Cut through ambiguity and noise, framing problems clearly and driving towards structured, pragmatic solutions that balance speed and rigour.
  • Develop executive-ready deliverables (narratives, decision papers, board materials) that simplify complexity and enable senior leaders to make decisions quickly.
  • Shape and drive cross-domain operating rhythms (e.g. annual planning, readiness reviews, quarterly business reviews) with consistency and discipline.
  • Anticipate risks and dependencies early, and escalate with solutions to maintain program momentum.
  • Apply your strategic and big picture lens in connecting the dots, as well as in identifying process-related roadblocks or accelerators throughout the year.

These programs are essential for reducing complexity today so that we can scale in the future, whilst keeping customer experience at our core.

Who you are 

  • You have 10+ years of experience in strategy execution, program management, or transformation roles in high-growth, complex environments.
  • You are a strategic operator - equally comfortable zooming out to connect the dots as you are diving into detail to ensure quality and impact.
  • You bring structure, rigour, and discipline, and you know how to professionalise deliverables and processes without creating bureaucracy.
  • You thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving contexts, and possess excellent project management and organizational skills to effectively handle multiple projects and prioritise accordingly.
  • You are motivated by impact: you ensure nothing falls through the cracks, while also raising the level of thinking and execution across the team.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data/situations and draw actionable insights.
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
