Team Lead of Financial & ESG Reporting

Adyen is looking for a Financial & ESG Reporting Team Lead within the Global Reporting team in Amsterdam. This role reports directly to the Global Head of Reporting and will lead a growing team responsible for Adyen’s internal and external Financial and ESG reporting.

The core focus of this team is to ensure transparent, reliable and automated reporting in a constantly growing organisation and evolving landscape. The team lead will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Regulators, while also engaging with senior leadership across the business. 

Your challenge will be to set the strategy and lead the team through scaling complexity. This includes: driving compliance with ever-evolving financial and sustainability standards and regulations; overseeing the preparation of Adyen’s Financial statements and ESG disclosures; building strong cross-functional partnerships; and supporting and inspiring the team. 

You will also collaborate closely with other reporting leads, aligning on global objectives and supporting initiatives across broader reporting initiatives.

  • Lead and mentor the direct reports, act as a role model for the organization and cultivate a winning culture, facilitate learning and development, manage and plan resources, and oversee the team’s day-to-day way of working.
  • Empower your team with a clear vision and strategy and ensure the team is well-equipped to achieve their goals.
  • Create a positive and inspiring team environment, cultivate a ‘one-team mentality’.
  • Drive simplification and automation of reporting processes across both financial and ESG domains to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of recurring reporting obligations (Financial Statements, Sustainability Statement, Monthly Management reporting, etc) staying ahead of evolving requirements. 
  • Partner and maintain a strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders, lead financial and ESG reporting related initiatives related to the team’s scope of work, and take an active role in setting up financial processes that complies with Adyen’s reporting needs at scale. 
  • Strengthen the connection between the business and Financial & ESG Reporting team, supporting Adyen’s global strategy;

 Who you are

  • You have proven ability with work experience (hands-on) in Financial and ESG reporting within a multinational organization, with at least 2 years in a leadership role;
  • Expertise in Financial & ESG reporting frameworks, particularly in the context of credit institutions, FinTechs or payment institutions and familiarity with relevant Financial & ESG reporting requirements and frameworks within the EU (IFRS, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Pillar 3, GHG Protocol, etc);
  • Strong people leadership skills to build and lead high-performance teams in an international setup; it is expected that you will coach and develop others in the team, and you are decisive when needed;
  • A high degree of self-motivation, ambitious and hands-on, with an entrepreneurial mindset; a good team player with the ability to engage with people and deliver within tight deadlines within a fast-paced, international environment.
  • You have exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex topics into easy-to-understand concepts and influence others where necessary to achieving the team’s goals. 
  • You are detail-oriented and able to maintain a big picture view to help others solve problems and connect the dots to broader organizational needs.
  • You are innovative, with strong problem-solving capabilities and able to define robust processes and procedures.
