Adyen’s Commercial Academy

The primary goal of the Commercial Academy is to drive commercial growth through our training programs and other initiatives, in a scalable way. We are a community driven Academy, working very closely with our commercial team to ensure relevance and top quality. We train hand-in-hand with our successful commercial teammates to allow for effective experiential learning. While we are expanding our learning offering, we’re always looking to further advance our continuous learning strategies. 

 

The role of Trainer Team Lead for Commercial Academy

 

What you’ll do: 

As the Trainer Team Lead, you manage a team of 5 high-performing trainers that run our internal, global commercial training programs. You drive impact, growth and scalability of Commercial Academy’s training efforts, while ensuring we work effectively across teams and in alignment with business needs. 

 

This entails:

  • Lead and Coach: You provide direct leadership to the team of Commercial Academy Trainers. You coach them, facilitate their professional development, and ensure an energetic and collaborative team culture.
  • Strategy and Innovation: You execute and actively contribute to the strategy of the Commercial Academy and find effective and innovative ways to deliver. 
  • Program & Project Management: You oversee and drive the progress, quality and impact of all existing training programs (e.g., pitching, negotiating, qualifying) and new initiatives. You co-design programs with your team and ensure the curriculum remains relevant to Adyen's commercial objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: You serve as a crucial point of contact and strategic partner for Commercial Leadership (regionally and globally) to align on learning needs and solutions. You ensure we leverage top talent in our training programs. 
  • Operational Excellence: You optimize the internal processes and workflow of the trainer team to ensure impact, scalability, and consistency in the global delivery of training.
  • Trainer: Although this is a leadership role, you will participate in the development of challenging new programs and facilitate training sessions or take any stage yourself when necessary, to stay involved with the content and the audience.

Who you are

  • Experienced Commercial Leader: You have at least 3+ years of experience in leading and coaching a team - trainers or sellers - preferably in a fast-paced, global, or commercial environment.
  • Training design and delivery: You have 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and delivering commercial training programs, and you have a clear vision on what great looks like.
  • Driven innovator: You are a Driven Innovator who demonstrates the maturity and autonomy to set the course, innovate, and get things done. You apply this drive strategically, understanding that shifting behavior across a 1,000-sellers demands more than just singular training events, but sustained, systemic change.
  • Stakeholder Expert: You are an outstanding stakeholder manager, with proven experience in building influential relationships with Commercial Leadership, other teams, and aligning learning strategies at senior level globally. You easily connect the dots across initiatives, people and teams.
  • Operational Thinker: Your approach is strategic, but you have a strong focus on scalability and execution power. You are capable of making critical decisions, streamlining processes, and ensuring quality standards within a global team.
  • Communicator: You communicate to-the-point, impactful, and people-oriented, both verbally and in writing in English. You understand the commercial mindset and speak their language.
