This role requires a unique blend of journalistic curiosity and commercial mindset. You will not only build the content strategy but also get your hands dirty writing and editing high impact pieces—from technical white papers to engaging social copy. You will work at the intersection of creativity and data, ensuring every piece of content serves a purpose in driving brand awareness and generating leads.
What You’ll Do
- Local Content Strategy: Build and own the content marketing strategy for Japan, ensuring it aligns strictly with local business goals, marketing campaigns, and brand standards in collaboration with other local marketing functions such as the country marketing manager, digital marketing manager and localization specialist
- Editorial Calendar Management: Lead the planning and execution of the Japan content calendar. Research audience insights, industry trends, and regulatory changes to curate a roadmap of newsworthy, relevant topics
- Hands-on Creation: Write, edit, and polish copy for a wide range of formats including customer success stories (case studies), blog posts, data reports, white papers, event assets, ad copy, email nurturing flows, and social media
- Commercial Alignment: Create content with a strong commercial focus. Collaborate with Sales and Account Management to produce sales enablement materials (brochures, decks) that help close deals
- Global to Local Translation: Collaborate with the Regional Studio team and Global Marketing to adapt global campaigns for the Japanese market, ensuring the Adyen voice resonates locally without losing its global identity
- Project Management: Manage the end-to-end production process. Develop detailed project plans in tools like Monday.com, managing timelines, internal stakeholders, and external freelance or agency resources
- Performance & Optimization: Analyze content performance using data (Google Analytics, Marketo, Salesforce). Provide actionable insights to optimize future content, improve SEO rankings, and increase user engagement
- Travel: Travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%) for team alignment or on-site content gathering (e.g., interviewing merchants)
Who You Are
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in content marketing or copywriting, with a strong preference for B2B Tech or Fintech/ Financial services backgrounds
- Master Storyteller: You have an impeccable eye for detail and approach tasks with a journalistic attitude. You know how to find the "angle" that turns dry technical updates into compelling stories (Journalism background is a plus)

- Digital & Data Fluency: You have a strong understanding of the digital ecosystem, including SEO, user experience (UX), and content distribution channels. You know how to write for search engines without sacrificing human readability
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with Marketo, Salesforce, Google Analytics and project management tools like Monday.com is highly preferred
