Event Marketing Manager, Japan
We are looking for a strategic and hands on Event Marketing Manager to define and drive our event strategy in Japan. In this role, you will be the owner of the local event calendar, balancing high impact proprietary events with key industry trade shows. You will work at the intersection of creativity and data, building experiences that not only delight our merchants but also drive tangible commercial results.
What You’ll Do
- Strategy & Planning: Build the comprehensive local event strategy and annual calendar in close partnership with the Country Marketing Manager. Ensure all initiatives align with Japan’s commercial goals and the global marketing vision
- End-to-End Execution: Own the full lifecycle of event marketing programs. This includes objective setting, concept creation, content development, campaign setup, landing pages, registration management, and on-site execution
- Proprietary Events: conceptualize and execute Adyen-owned events, ranging from large scale merchant gatherings to intimate, high touch executive dinners featuring global leadership speakers
- Industry Presence: Manage our presence at third party industry trade shows and sponsorships, ensuring brand consistency and maximizing lead generation opportunities.
- Global Collaboration: Coordinate high value experiences for Japanese delegations attending Adyen-sponsored global events (e.g., NRF), working closely with commercial teams to ensure white glove service
- Performance & ROI: Manage the event budget with precision. Rigorously evaluate event ROI using Salesforce and Marketo to track leads, analyze post-event data, and produce wrap up reports that inform future strategy
- Cross Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Digital, PR, Content, and Design teams to integrate events into broader marketing campaigns. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales, Account Management) and external partners (agencies, vendors, production teams)
- Travel: Travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%) to manage on-site event experiences
Who You Are
- Experience: 5+ years of event marketing experience, preferably within the B2B technology or Fintech space
- Executive Polish: You have a proven track record in executive engagement, comfortable creating high-end experiences for C-level audiences
- Project Management: You are a proactive project manager capable of handling multiple complex work streams and coordinating cross departmental contributors without missing a beat
- Tech-Savvy & Data-Driven: You possess a mind for analytics and metrics. Proficiency in Salesforce and Marketo (or similar automation tools) is highly preferred
- Creative Innovator: You are passionate about utilizing the latest event technologies and creative concepts to build unique, memorable experiences
- Language Skills: Native level Japanese and Business level English are required. You must be comfortable communicating complex ideas in both languages
- Cultural Adaptability: You thrive in fast-paced, multi-cultural environments and enjoy working with international teams
