Senior UI Designer

Adyen is looking for a Heavyweight UI Designer who lives at the intersection of high-end aesthetics and technical innovation. You aren't just a "visual" designer; you are a digital designer who builds scalable, high-fidelity systems.

As a Senior/Heavyweight lead, you will bridge the gap between brand strategy and interactive execution. You will take complex financial concepts and transform them into world-class digital experiences. This role requires a tech-forward mindset: we are looking for someone who views AI as a fundamental layer of their creative process and Framer as their playground for high-fidelity deployment.

What You’ll Do

• Systemic UI Design: Architect and evolve sophisticated UI kits and design systems in Figma that empower our global marketing and product teams.
• High-Fidelity Prototyping: Use Framer to bring static designs to life, creating production-ready micro-interactions and immersive web experiences that feel tangible.
• AI-Driven Workflows: Lead the charge in integrating AI tools into the design lifecycle, from generative assets to automated layout testing and workflow optimization.
• Brand Elevation: Strategically translate Adyen’s value proposition and brand system into impactful digital visuals, ensuring the brand remains premium, cohesive, and cutting-edge across all touchpoints.
• Knowledge share: Lead and inspire young designers 
• Stakeholder Mastery: Present high-level creative concepts to executive stakeholders, advocating for design choices with a blend of data-driven logic and creative intuition.
• Global Scalability: Build with a "flex-first" mindset, ensuring UI solutions adapt seamlessly across multiple languages, regions, and device constraints without losing aesthetic integrity.
• Execution & Ownership: Manage high-stakes projects from initial prompt to final hand-off, maintaining "heavyweight" standards of quality and autonomous project management.

What You Bring

• The Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in high-growth environments (top-tier agencies, tech startups, or elite in-house teams).
• The Tech Stack: * Mastery: Figma (Components, Variables, Auto-layout) and Framer (CMS, Animations, Components).
• Proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• The Edge: Deep practical knowledge of AI tools (Midjourney, Runway, Magician, etc.) and a hunger for "extra tooling" (e.g., Lottie, Spline, or Rive).
• The Portfolio: A showcase of "High Craft." We want to see sophisticated, expert use of grid systems, and digital work that feels "alive."
• The Specialist Mindset: You are a UI Specialist. You find joy in the "final 10%", the polish, the motion, and the component architecture.
• Note: This is not a UX role. If your passion is user testing, wireframing, or journey mapping, this won’t be the right fit. We want the visual storytellers and the system builders.
• The Communication: Full professional fluency in English with the ability to articulate "the why" behind "the what."
• The Drive: You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to "get your hands dirty" in an all-hands-on-deck culture.

The AI-First Philosophy

We don’t just "experiment" with AI; we integrate it. We’re looking for a designer who uses AI to bypass the mundane, accelerate prototyping, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in visual storytelling. Whether it’s using LLMs for content strategy, Midjourney/Flux for visual development, or AI-driven plugins to automate Figma workflows, you are someone who stays ahead of the curve.
