The Role

As a member of the Platform Banking team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the control, security, and reliability of our global data movement. Our infrastructure facilitates the transfer of thousands of files daily across all continents, serving as the backbone for Adyen’s financial operations. 

In this position, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our file transfer systems including setup, configuration, maintenance, and continuous optimization. Your work ensures that the foundational connections supporting our high-volume transfers remain robust and scalable.

While the primary focus is on IBM Sterling Connect:Direct, our ecosystem also includes IBM MQ clusters and SWIFT communication protocols. Proven expertise in these platforms is highly valued, as you will contribute to the broader stability and evolution of our messaging and connectivity stack. The core responsibilities for this role are: 

  • Infrastructure Management: Installing and configuring Connect:Direct nodes (PNODEs and SNODEs) and maintaining network maps and initialization parameters (userfile.cfg, sysacl.cfg).
  • Process Development: Creating and troubleshooting C:D Process scripts for automated file transfers, including scheduling, checkpoint restarts, and post-processing tasks.
  • Security Administration: Managing Secure Plus configurations, including SSL/TLS certificates, key stores, and certificate revocation lists (CRL) to ensure encrypted data exchange.
  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing connectivity failures and transfer errors, and optimizing throughput using data compression and performance tuning.
  • Network Integration: Experience in working with load balancers and/or consul is preferred.

  • Scripting: C:D Process Language, Yaml, Unix Shell Scripting (Bash), Terraform
  • Automation Tools: Puppet, Ansible
  • Monitoring Tools: Prometheus / Grafana
  • Security: SSL/TLS, X.509 Certificates, FIPS 140-2 compliance
  • Integration: IBM MQ
