Senior Partner Solutions Engineer - Hardware

Adyen is looking for a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer with a track record of hands-on embedded Android or systems engineering work to own the technical relationship with one or more of our most complex hardware OEM partners. You'll be the primary technical authority on that relationship: root-causing the hardest device-level issues, holding senior OEM engineering counterparts accountable, and shaping how Adyen manages OEM technical relationships as the function grows.

As Adyen evolves its hardware offerings and moves toward a hardware independence model, this role carries real weight. Your OEM relationship is one of the more demanding ones in the portfolio, and you're expected to bring judgment and strategy to it, not just execute an existing playbook.

What you'll do:

• Serve as the primary, most senior technical advisor for your OEM's engineering team, leading escalations on the most complex device-level issues.
• Drive technical strategy for your OEM relationship: which issues to prioritize, which process gaps to close, and how automation and tooling should evolve.
• Lead cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Hardware Integrity/Reliability, and Commercial on priorities for your OEM, especially when those priorities conflict.
• Design and drive adoption of tooling, automation, and process improvements that scale quality efforts across the relationship.
• Partner together with Commercial to drive proactive improvements to the Adyen payment experience on partner devices, not just reactive bug-fixing.
• Mentor other Partner Solutions Engineers on debugging approach and partner management, without formal management responsibility.
• Help shape the broader and scalable operating model for Hardware Partner Engineering as Adyen adds OEM relationships and device coverage.

Who you are:

• 8+ years of experience in a technical solutions role, partner engineering, or related fields, with proven experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., developer advocate, partner engineer, technical solutions engineer, or solutions architect).
• 4+ years of hands-on embedded, firmware, or systems engineering experience, with meaningful exposure to hardware, embedded, or device-level environments.
• Embedded Android experience in a point-of-sale context (e.g. point-of-sale terminals, payment terminals, kiosks, unattended/vending machines, etc.) is a plus.
• A credible technical authority who can evaluate an OEM's root-cause claims and hold senior OEM engineering counterparts accountable.
• Track record of turning a reactive backlog into durable process, tooling, or automation.
• Excellent communicator, comfortable leading discussions with senior partner engineering leadership and internal cross-functional stakeholders.
• High agency and a strategic mindset: you're thinking a few steps past the current ticket queue.
• Willing to travel to OEM locations and work across time zones.
