We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas:
- Software Design
- Software Implementation
- Technical Documentation
- Team Collaboration
- Customer Interaction
- Software Integration and Testing
- Task Planning and Schedule Estimating

Experience Required for this Position:

5+ years of experience in software development using C/C++.
Strong understanding of real-time application programming.
Expertise in cross-platform development (Windows & Linux).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
Ability to work with export-controlled technology

Desired Competencies:

Technical Expertise:
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
- Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing.
- Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming.
- Background in real-time, multi-processing systems.
- Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g., KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery).
Development Tools & Practices:
- Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira).
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (Perforce, Git).
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
Industry Experience:
- Prior experience in the training and simulation industry.
- Willingness to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
