Software QA Manager
We are looking for a Software QA Manager to help us in our mission to keep pilots safe by assuring that the software we deploy meets our quality standards. The Software QA Manager’s primary role is to manage the QA team’s workload for both runtime and tools while improving team processes and mentoring the team to successful outcomes.
The primary workplace is our South San Francisco office. This is a hybrid role which requires 2 days a week minimum in office due to specialized hardware required for testing.
United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentoring test team members as their direct manager.
- Oversee all management aspects of the software testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Maintain and evolve the test plan as software changes happen during development and bug fixing.
- Be an advocate for identifying and communicating improvements to QA processes and methodologies.
- Manage the funnel of the test team’s workload by communicating with stakeholders across teams.
- Improve documentation and training of the test teams processes.
- Ensure our software and tools comply with contract requirements and our quality process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8 years experience in software quality assurance, with 5 years in in a management or leadership role.
- General knowledge of modern testing methodologies, tools and technologies.
- Experience with testing 3D graphics applications and/or content creation tools.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across different orgs to direct QA priorities towards delivering high quality software.
- Proven track record of managing successful QA teams.
- Demonstratable knowledge or project management best practices as they apply to quality assurance.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills and tenacity to follow through.
- Eligibility to work with export-controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Instinct to advocate for automation (such as visual diffing) and curiosity about leveraging AI in test system pipelines.
- Experience with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins.
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, GIS, Geospatial or Geotypical content creation.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 USD Per Year
The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $100,000 - $150,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
