Software Engineering Manager
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of skilled engineers building high-performance tools and systems that support our production pipelines, real-time rendering engines, and simulation platforms. This role requires strong technical leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration with artists, content developers, QA, and product stakeholders.
You will be responsible for guiding engineering efforts, growing talent, and ensuring timely delivery of robust and scalable software solutions.
United States citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers working on simulation tools, pipeline automation, and visualization systems.
- Oversee project planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define engineering roadmaps and technical strategy.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive best practices in software architecture, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Work closely with artists, QA, and product teams to ensure tools and pipelines meet evolving production needs.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Manage performance reviews, hiring, and career development for direct reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a team leadership or management role.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, including experience developing tools for real-time graphics or simulation environments.
- Proven track record managing successful technical projects in complex systems (e.g. simulation, gaming, or VFX).
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile principles, and source control tools (e.g., Git, Perforce).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable navigating the balance between technical depth and high-level planning.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work with export-controlled technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience developing plugins, tools, or automation for 2D/3D content creation tools such as Maya, Photoshop, or Houdini.
- Familiarity with real-time graphics pipelines, rendering systems, or image generators.
- Background in graphics, simulation, gaming, or VFX.
- Exposure to GIS tools like QGIS, ArcMap, or Google Earth Enterprise.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000 USD Per Year
The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $180,000 - $220,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
