Our IT team is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer – Cloud & Identity (Contract) to help us in our mission. As an integral member of our IT Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technological infrastructure. We seek a talented individual with strong experience in cloud identity, device management, and hybrid environments, as well as a proven ability to lead and execute new systems and technology in collaboration with IT Management.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, provisioning Azure Cloud resources and supporting hybrid Active Directory (AD) environments. This role will also serve as a technical lead in evaluating, integrating and implementing new technologies aligned with IT strategic design, security standards and operational best practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technology Integration and Technical Leadership: Partner closely with IT Management to evaluate, integrate, and implement new systems and technologies, ensuring alignment with architectural design standards, security requirements, and long-term IT strategy.
  • Cloud Identity and Device Management: Support Entra ID Sync, Intune, and SSO integration for new applications. Assist with cloud authentication and synchronization for critical services.
  • Azure Cloud Resource Provisioning: Provision and manage Azure Cloud resources to support business and IT initiatives.
  • Hybrid Environment Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and support hybrid environments, encompassing on-premises and cloud-based systems, to meet business needs and ensure scalability and security.
  • Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS): Manage existing ADCS with a focus on planning and supporting a future migration to Azure-based certificate solutions.
  • Technology Integration: Work closely with IT Management on integrating new technology, ensuring alignment with design and strategic direction, and that onboarding and material changes follow the IT Operations Technology Onboarding Process with appropriate cross-team communication prior to production deployment.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to IT-related issues and requests, diagnose and resolve technical problems, and provide timely support to end-users to minimize disruptions and downtime.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and workflows. Actively participate in knowledge sharing activities to enhance the collective expertise of the IT team.
  • Working Hours and On-Call: Commit to working until 5:00 PM Pacific on weekdays, participate in monthly after-hours scheduled maintenance, and our emergency on-call rotation.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Reliable communications in case of urgent infrastructure needs.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and applications.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation and update existing IT documentation as needed.
  • Experience working in an MS Windows based office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and highly motivated.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines.
  • Can successfully work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Able to determine priorities and appropriate level of escalation.
  • Able to accurately relay information between IT staff and other points of contact.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing vendors and vendor relationships.
  • Flexible work hours/days.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency due to work with export-controlled material.

DESIRED COMPENTENCIES:

  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of Intune for device compliance, configuration, and application deployment.
  • Familiarity with migrating services from on-premises infrastructure to Azure cloud.
  • Experience supporting hybrid identity models and federation services.
  • Knowledge of modern endpoint security practices, including MFA and zero-trust principles.
  • Proficiency in managing collaboration tools such as Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools for cloud environments.
  • Excellent documentation and knowledge-sharing abilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum 7 years’ experience in a related field.

 

Salary Range: 

$80 - $105 USD per hour

The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $80 - $105.00 USD per hour. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.


 
This is a contract position with an expected hourly rate of $80 – $105, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. This role does not include company benefits and is intended for a defined engagement period.
