Purpose of the role

As Fund Controller, you are the financial backbone of our fund platform. You’re responsible for the oversight and control of outsourced financial administration and reporting. Your focus goes beyond getting the numbers right.

You question, connect, and improve, making sure data can be trusted, controls make sense, and complexity stays manageable as the organisation grows. You help future proof our fund operations, so teams, clients, and regulators can rely on clear, consistent, and robust information.

The Fund Controller is part of the Accounting and Reporting team within our Operations department who aim to deliver high quality services to internal and external stakeholders. The team safeguards strong controls, audit readiness, and reliable data, while continuously improving processes and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Working in a fully outsourced model, you challenge, validate, and improve administrator outputs rather than produce them yourself. You play a key role in the monthly close, annual accounts content, and ongoing data quality improvements making oversight predictable, transparent, and scalable. These are your key responsibilities:

  • Oversee outsourced fund administration; review trial balances, accruals, fees, capital flows, and reconciliations
  • Maintain a robust internal “mini annual accounts” pack and resolve breaks across investment data, DWH, and administrator outputs.
  • Strengthen annual accounts quality by reviewing disclosures, reconciliations, and audit evidence for accuracy and consistency.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting such as MER, MESREP and AIFMD and ensure alignment with fund financials, trends and strong control evidence.
  • Control fees, budgets, and accruals by challenging calculations, validating invoices, and ensuring consistency across funds and clients.
  • Eliminate recurring issues, standardize controls, and support automation to drive data-quality and process improvement.

What you bring

We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a scaling and fast-changing environment. You communicate easily across teams and take clear ownership for outcomes. You have a pragmatic, hands-on approach to improving complex fund processes. It’s key that you are confident challenging external providers. Next to this, you bring:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, financial reporting or audit (administrator, Big 4, or buy-side).
  • A strong understanding of NAVs, valuations, accruals, fees, FX, and reconciliations in a fund-of-funds context.
  • Experience with Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS and exposure to MER, MESREP, AIFMD.

Additional information

  • Reference checks and a pre-employment screening are a final step of the hiring procedure.
  • We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability status.
