AffiniPay is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in the month-end close process and will report to the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, comprehensive understanding of GAAP and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform month-end close functions for multiple entities
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Analyze and book accruals for pending invoices, open purchase orders, contracts, and credit card transactions
  • Reconcile, provide supporting documentation and detailed analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Review and provide notes from detailed analysis to assigned cost center income statement for month over month and year over year variances
  • Perform actual to budget/forecast Income Statement review for assigned cost center
  • Cross train with accounting team on prepaids, fixed assets, and other functional areas as assigned
  • Record cash transaction activity and reconcile all bank accounts
  • Support financial and tax audits by providing PBC schedules and documentation as assigned
  • Ensure procedures are in accordance with GAAP requirements and accounting department policies
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested

About You 

  • 2-4 years accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Confident self-starter with a solid ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments
  • Experience with ERP systems (Workday experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial/accounting principles and systems
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Located in Austin, Texas
