We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the Analytics Engineering team, under Engineering/Infrastructure/Data Systems and Services area.
The Analytics Engineering team is responsible for enabling the infrastructure and technologies at Affirm for building analytical use cases on top of it by multiple and diverse Analytics teams as stakeholders. This includes modern data governance and catalog, data quality monitoring and data pipelines observability. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and maintaining critical infrastructure, data pipelines and systems for analytical use cases with efficiency. What You'll Do
- Work with engineering managers and tech leads to identify and plan projects based on the team goals and resources.
- Work closely with tech leads, managers, and cross-functional teams within Affirm, including engineering, analytics and product to deliver technology for analytical use cases.
- Write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.
- Review others’ work and provide reinforcing and constructive feedback to meet our high quality standards.
- Serve as a technical resource and engineering mentor for other engineers, both inside and outside the immediate team.
- Foster a respectful and supportive environment that embraces the diversity of the team.
- On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement.
What We Look For
- 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering teams or similar.
- Proven working experience and fluency with SQL and DBT for data transformations.
- Proven working experience and proficiency with Python ideally, or other modern programming languages.
- Professional experience with infrastructure as code languages, like Terraform.
- Professional experience with data pipelines, data modeling, data warehouse technologies, cloud infrastructures.
- Professional experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers like Azure, GCP...
- You are not dogmatic and believe in solving problems with the right tool for the job.
- Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills, written and verbal.
- Humility and self-awareness to understand opportunities to learn and grow. Ambiguity is where you thrive.
- Experience providing reviews on teammates code and designs, providing constructive feedback to meet a high bar of quality and help others grow.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay Grade - M
Equity Grade - Spain 4
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
ESP base pay range per year: €80,000 - €110,000

We are able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, but do require that someone is based in Spain for the role.
Location - Remote Spain

Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office.
