Compliance Manager (Product Advisory)

We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Product Advisory Compliance Manager to join our U.S. Consumer Compliance Advisory team. This role reports to the Sr. Manager that heads up our Partnerships-focused subteam. You will be the primary Compliance contact for a handful of B2C and B2B partner-integration teams, including ApplePay, Amazon, and Shopify. Your job will be to support business partners in adhering to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. We are looking for a self-starter who takes their work seriously, but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with the Product team to assist in optimizing Affirm's product offerings, by identifying and evaluating potential compliance risks and devising effective strategies to mitigate them, while ensuring that business objectives are not compromised.

  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to deliver compliance requirements in a clear and concise manner to enable standard and non-standard partnerships and respond to partner requests that may have compliance implications.

  • Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulations

  • Address compliance issues by working cross functionally to identify root cause and remediate issues.  

  • Develop and maintain internal and cross-functional training and reference materials to enable efficient compliance reviews.

  • Identify, document and optimize critical processes to enable scale, conduct risk assessments, support audits, oversee the remediation of systemic issues. 

  • As  a people manager you will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing direct and indirect reports. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, handling staffing needs, employee reviews, and coaching to achieve the company’s objectives. 

  • Build frameworks to bridge processes and promote cross-functional collaboration.

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Compliance certifications or graduate degree a plus)

  • 5+ years in a regulatory compliance advisory role.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups 

  • A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections.

  • Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B).

  • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions.

  • Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills– and the ability to coach these skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to clearly present complex and contentious issues.

Pay Grade - K

Equity Grade - 6

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $140,000 - $190,000

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $124,000 - $174,000
