Staff Product Manager
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
Our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives extends beyond borders. Consumers across the globe need safe, transparent financing. Our retail partners need Affirm to be there for them, wherever that might be. To help achieve this vision, we are expanding our product lines and becoming a global company.
Affirm is building the next generation of customer servicing for people who need help with repayments. This role leads the product vision for Bankruptcy and Hardships, a mission-critical area where product, eng, compliance, and operations meet. You’ll own high-impact work that improves outcomes for customers in vulnerable moments while ensuring our processes scale and remain compliant.
What you’ll do
- Own the global strategy and roadmap for Affirm’s Bankruptcy and Hardships products — balancing compliance, operational resilience, and customer experience.
- Build and scale a robust new bankruptcy service that supports the full lifecycle of bankruptcies and reduces manual effort.
- Modernize our existing hardship experiences to make them faster, clearer, and more empathetic.
- Lead a full-stack product remit: define and prioritize work across backend services (lifecycle automation, orchestration, models) and frontend experiences (agent tools and customer-facing flows).
- Partner closely with Legal & Compliance, Risk, Recoveries, Collections, Ops and Engineering to translate regulatory and operational requirements into product outcomes.
- Define product guardrails and governance to manage financial and operational constraints while protecting customer outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Experience: 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in regulated or compliance-sensitive financial products.
- Strategic execution: Experience creating clarity in ambiguous spaces, building 0→1 products, and scaling mature systems.
- Cross-functional leadership: Proven ability to influence and align with engineering, design, legal, compliance and operational partners.
- End-to-end product ownership: Track record of shipping complex products and technical fluency to define requirements and operational monitoring for backend systems.
- Autonomy: Comfortable driving initiatives independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
