Analytics Strategist

Position Summary:

The Analytics Strategist will play a critical role in designing and constructing meaningful analytics to answer a wide variety of business questions to prove the value proposition of the company and drive improvements to the business. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and provide insights that demonstrate the clinical and financial value experienced by clients and their members through partnering with AffirmedRx.

What you will do:

 1. Develop & Automate Savings Algorithms

• Lead methodology development and automation efforts associated with quantification of formulary conversions and clinical interventions, both prospectively (opportunity identification) and retrospectively (savings attribution)
• Work across teams, including Clinical, Data, Reporting, Pricing, and Client Management, to ensure methodologies are sound clinically and financially, and are transparent to end customers
• Utilize a wide range of tools and industry leading techniques (including AI/ML) to identify and quantify new measures of clinical and financial value, available or delivered to customers
• Create and maintain detailed documentation on policies, procedures, and business requirements for all methodologies, algorithms, and analyses

2. Support Ad-Hoc Analyses:

• Respond to internal and external requests for Ad-Hoc analyses, providing insights back that drive requestors to action
• Manage expectations with stakeholders around scope, timing, and resources required for requested analyses
• Communicate results clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders, including summaries, data tables and visualizations, and oral presentations
• Follow all compliance and data security standards when interacting with sensitive information including PHI and PII

3. Use Analytics to Drive Business Improvements

• Look for opportunities across the organization to address pain points utilizing innovative, data-driven approaches to provide solutions (examples of business units where this work may be conducted: call center processes or formulary development and change reporting)
• Create innovative measures to track and report on business processes, functions, and outcomes, which can be used to identify trends and areas for potential refinement
• Incorporate risk modeling and other AI/ML techniques to organizational understanding and prediction of member behavior

 4. Cross-Team Collaboration & Review

• Provide informed perspective on data architecture, logistics, security, and operations to support the evolving technology roadmap
• Assist with development of best practices and governance related to data and measures
• Support Peer-Review of analyses, processes, procedures, algorithms, and methodologies within and across teams
• Support design and evolution of standard reporting products, including client, performance, regulatory and compliance

5. Experience Studies and Publication:

• Work closely with leadership and stakeholders throughout the organization to support the development and publication of experience studies on the book of business, best practices, and industry-leading insights
• Contribute insights to support marketing and sales efforts, formulary design, and clinical program development

What you need:

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare reporting and analytics required
• 3+ years of experience in pharmacy or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) preferred
• Proficient in database querying and data manipulation tools, particularly with large datasets, preferably Microsoft/Azure products and utilizing PowerBI or other tools for visualization
• Ability to design, build and deploy (at scale) AI/ML models with high business value
• Proficient in programming/coding languages; SQL required, and Python preferred
• Ability to present complex data, measures, methodologies, and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for building cross-functional relationships and demonstrated success working with other team members in highly collaborative roles
• Willingness and ability to travel (10%-20%)
