Position Summary:
The Analytics intern will play a critical role in supporting the execution of meaningful analytics to answer a wide variety of business questions and workflow optimization using AI/Machine learning. This role will support our Analytics Strategist, members of the Reporting team and other internal stakeholders across the organization to develop and provide insights that demonstrate the clinical and financial value experienced by clients and their members through partnering with AffirmedRx. This role will report directly to the Director of Analytics & Reporting.
What you will do:
Develop and Automate Savings Algorithms:
• Support ongoing development and automation efforts associated with quantification of formulary conversions and clinical interventions, both prospectively (opportunity identification) and retrospectively (savings attribution)
• Utilize a wide range of tools and industry leading techniques (including AI/ML) to identify and quantify new measures of clinical and financial value, available or delivered to customers
• Create and maintain detailed documentation on policies, procedures, and business requirements for all methodologies, algorithms, and analyses
Support Ad-Hoc Analyses and Insights:
• Collaborate with the Analytics Strategist to assist with internal and external ad-hoc analysis requests, delivering insights that drive informed decision making
• Work closely with key stakeholders, including the Performance Guarantee Reconciliation Manager, Reporting Team (Internal & Client Reports), Clinical Team, and other departments to support data-driven initiatives
Reporting and Compliance Standards:
• Clearly communicate analysis results to internal and external stakeholders through summaries, data tables, visualizations, and presentations
• Ensure adherence to compliance and data security standards when handling sensitive information (PHI and PII), including the completion of HIPPA training and evaluations
Leverage Analytics for Business Growth:
• Support ongoing work to identify opportunities across the organization to address pain points utilizing innovative, data-driven approaches to provide solutions (examples of business units where this work may be conducted: client service processes or formulary development and change reporting)
• Create innovative measures to track and report on business processes, functions, and outcomes, which can be used to identify trends and areas for potential refinement
• Incorporate risk modeling and other AI/ML techniques to organizational understanding and prediction of member behavior
What you need:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or related field or working towards a PharmD with strong analytical aptitude
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, along with problem-solving and facilitation abilities
• Familiarity with database querying and data manipulation tools
• Knowledge of programming languages, with a preference for SQL and Python
• Ability to present complex data, metrics, methodologies, and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for building cross-functional relationships and a proven track record of successful collaboration with team members

Other Position Details:
• $17 - $18 per hour, depending on experience
• 30-35 hours per week (flexible, Monday through Friday, based on scheduling)
• 2 full months - June 2 – August 8, 2025
• End of internship presentation to leadership (last week)
