THE ROLE

AG1 is looking for an experienced and highly-strategic Senior Manager, Procurement to join our growing global Supply Chain team. This role will play a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies within specific product categories (Manufacturing and Logistics) for the AG1 product portfolio. The role will be critical in ensuring AG1 is able to fully utilize its network of 3rd party partners to achieve the company’s objectives and our consumer value proposition (enabling profitability, cashflow, quality, sustainability: constantly focusing on optimizing the total value for AG1)

You will do this by developing and executing sourcing strategies based on a 7 step process, working with a cross-functional team and focusing on insights, data and supplier management/development to ensure the best outcomes. You will have a strong understanding and ability to utilize game/decision theory and executing competitive sourcing events that include auctions (Dutch, Japanese and English reverse auctions). You will be experienced in driving contract and commercial negotiations on a global scale, enabling you to secure competitive pricing, improved quality performance and favorable terms beyond this. You will show a strong competence around the use of data/analytics to access and evaluate complex business problems and identify gaps and opportunities. You will be responsible for sourcing strategy within the scope (which makes up over 50% of our supply chain costs), working closely with a diverse team of Sourcing Managers and Manufacturing and Logistics Leaders to ensure delivery of our results. 

This role is 100% remote and must be based in Ireland.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and introduce sourcing strategies that align with business objectives (delivering cost-efficiency, improved quality and service level performance, cash-flow and sustainability/supply chain transparency improvements)
  • Guide cross-functional teams and ensure strong business partner processes are set up to keep all relevant functions informed all leaders engaged, aware, and involved.
  • Execute the 7 Step Sourcing Process: Working with the Manufacturing and Logistics team to establish a strategy that considers factors such as historic supplier performance, market insights, business needs/constraints, supply vs. demand dynamics, supplier trends and capabilities, etc. 
  • Develop and execute supplier tenders by crafting comprehensive Request for Proposals and Information (RFPs and RFIs), utilizing the outcomes to define bidding strategies that optimize game theory and auction/negotiation tools.
  • Auctions: Manage and conduct competitive e-auction processes, including reverse auctions that utilize multistage rounds, multi-variable bidding, bid transformations, supplier feedback strategies and alternative tactics that promote supplier competition and deliver the optimum value for the business.
  • Supplier Selection and Awards: Oversee Supplier Evaluations throughout the process, utilizing the bidding tools and outcome to make final recommendations on award (with clear expectation on business impact). Capturing Business/Leadership approvals and completing contract negotiations with selected suppliers to point of contract signature.
  • Support the Manufacturing and Logistics team in conducting/supporting regular supplier review meetings (QBRs). Utilizing such meetings to review quality and service level performance, pricing and costs, commitments on innovations and efficiencies, etc in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Logistics team to develop and identify new/alternative suppliers (attending industry events, etc)
  • Partner with the FP&A team on reporting on actual volumes/prices and variances vs. budgets – utilizing data and insights to agree priority actions and projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, innovative procurement technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact sourcing strategies.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3-5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within the consumer goods or health and wellness industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation and managing supplier relationships on a global scale.
  • Proficiency in utilizing game theory principles and reverse auctioning methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple work streams at once.
  • Strong interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills.
