THE ROLE
We are seeking a results-driven and performance-obsessed Senior Manager, Paid Search to join our Performance Marketing team at AG1. This role is designed for someone with deep hands-on experience in paid media buying, optimization, and strategic testing—specifically across Google Search, Google Shopping and Bing Search Ads.
This role is critical to our AG1 mission of optimizing our paid search acquisition engine to scale our DTC e-commerce subscription line of business efficiently and sustainably. You’ll be at the forefront of acquiring new customers through rigorous CAC and volume goals, developing full-funnel media strategies, testing new creative and landing pages, and using data to inform every decision.
Reporting to the Director, Performance Media, the ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on ownership, accountability, and performance—equally comfortable diving into platforms, collaborating cross-functionally with Creative, Analytics, Engineering and CRO teams, and distilling insights into actionable next steps for leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Spearhead the strategy, execution, and performance optimization of paid media programs across Google Search, Shopping/Performance Max, and Bing, stewarding a seven-figure monthly budget to deliver efficient, scalable customer growth.
- Own end-to-end accountability for channel performance, ensuring consistent delivery against CAC and new customer acquisition goals while aligning spend with broader business priorities.
- Design and implement a comprehensive A/B testing framework across ad creative, audience segmentation, placements, and landing page experiences to continuously uncover optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to strategic planning and monthly forecasting, delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that inform aggressive yet achievable CAC and acquisition volume targets.
- Collaborate with the CRO team to conceptualize, prioritize, and execute landing page experimentation strategies aimed at improving conversion rates—actively supporting build efforts using in-house tools when needed.
- Develop and present high-impact media plans aligned with key brand initiatives, product launches, and seasonal campaigns to ensure optimal allocation of media investment.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Analytics to maintain technical excellence across media platforms, proactively identifying and resolving pixel tracking, event tagging, and data integrity issues to enhance attribution accuracy.
- Deliver actionable insights through performance reporting and executive-level analysis, synthesizing complex data into strategic narratives that influence media strategy and executive decision-making.
- Maintain close relationships with platform partners to stay ahead of industry trends, beta opportunities, and evolving best practices—proactively identifying and activating new levers for growth.
- Ensure operational rigor by overseeing campaign architecture, taxonomy, and implementation of platform best practices to support scalable media operations and clear performance tracking.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of experience in-house or at a top-tier agency managing performance media campaigns above the 7 figure budget range per month while held to strict customer acquisition and CAC targets in the DTC e-commerce space (ideally for a subscription business)
- Hands-on-keys experience within Google and Bing ads platform responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, management, optimizing and reporting of campaign performance
- Experience with Google Merchant Center and updating and troubleshooting product feeds to support Google Shopping and Pmax campaigns
- Experience building out, updating and fully owning comprehensive annual testing roadmaps and a learning agenda for paid search channels
- Comprehensive understanding of creative from a direct response performance lens and ability to bridge the gap between media and creative teams to guide creative strategy for owned channels
- Familiarity with various attribution methodologies and experience planning and running conversion lift studies via direct with Google or third party measurement partner i.e. Haus, Measured to understand incrementality
- Strong analytical prowess, capable of extracting insights from data and translating them into actionable strategies
- Process-oriented mindset to support identifying team needs and contributing to the development of efficiency workflows crossfunctionally
- Meticulous attention to detail and proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple workstreams concurrently
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and articulate ideas effectively
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude always looking to improve performance
- A proactive approach to work bringing new ideas to the table rather being reactive and waiting to be told what to do
- Ability to monitor emerging search trends relevant for the health and wellness supplement space and translate that data into actionable optimizations within paid search channels
