Inside/Outside Plant Manager (ISP/OSP)
About Us
We are seeking a qualified Inside/Outside Plant (ISP/OSP) Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of telecommunications infrastructure projects supporting classified Department of Defense (DoD) environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inside and outside plant operations, including conduit systems, structured cabling, and fiber optic deployments, with proven leadership in managing teams and ensuring safety and compliance in confined space environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations, maintenance, and installation of Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications infrastructure.
- Lead and supervise cabling teams in the execution of structured cabling, fiber, and copper installations within and outside facilities.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, DoD regulations, and safety protocols, particularly in confined space environments.
- Oversee site surveys, documentation reviews, and the development of technical installation plans.
- Ensure quality control, risk mitigation, and compliance with OSP standards, codes, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to support the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate records of all plant components, pathways, and maintenance actions.
- Serve as the point of contact for escalated issues related to ISP/OSP infrastructure.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Citizenship and Clearance:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field or 5 years’ equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Certifications:
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- Proof of (or ability to attain) Confined Space Training.
- Skills:
- Strong technical understanding of OSP/ISP infrastructure, including conduit, cable tray, copper, and fiber systems.
- Knowledge of BICSI standards, EIA/TIA codes, and applicable safety protocols.
- Ability to manage teams and contractors in secure, mission-critical environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and project coordination abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to documentation and compliance.
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- May require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May require the ability to crawl on the floor and in tight spaces, and climb ladders and elevated platforms to install equipment, cables, and fiber.
